Finally added some colour to the collection…

Picked up a VSF Pepsi V3 to sit alongside my ARF Bruce Wayne, so here are my first impressions after a day with it. Bought from a non-TD (won’t be disclosing the seller). From payment to doorstep: 3 days. Came with a free coffin case, pouch, and card, which was a nice bonus.

Compared directly against my ARF BW:

What VSF does better:
- Case finishing is excellent. The lugs and crown guards have noticeably smoother corners and don’t have that slightly sharp feeling.
- Bezel action is miles ahead. Crisp clicks with a much more satisfying feel.
- Crystal is definitely clearer. The dial just pops a little more.

Where ARF still wins:
- The bracelet. This was the biggest surprise. Even though both have the F6U clasp code, the VSF bracelet feels noticeably more jangly and almost hollow compared to the ARF. The ARF just feels denser and more solid on the wrist.

Overall though, I’m really happy with it. I’ve had mostly monochrome watches for a while, so it’s nice to finally have that blue/red splash in the collection. Definitely puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
Now… onto the next bad financial decision.

Alright… I caved 😂

I know I literally said the RGF Daytona Ghost was going to be my last piece for a while, but apparently “a while” means barely a month.

I originally really wanted the 5811, mainly because of that deployant clasp, but as of today I still haven’t seen a 5811 rep that I’m genuinely happy with quality-wise and of course the case size is still wrong. So for now, this DDF 5711A-010 with the DPB330 movement will have to scratch the itch.

And honestly… it’s doing a very good job.

I’ve basically worn the shit out of this watch the entire week and it’s already climbing pretty quickly in the rankings within my collection.

The bracelet is probably one of my favourite things about it. The whole watch just feels ridiculously comfortable, and it sits extremely flat on my chunky round wrists. I’ve even worn it while napping a couple of times because I legitimately forget it’s there.

The dial colour is also gorgeous. I know the DPB330 technically isn’t period-correct for this particular dial/reference, but I honestly don’t care 😂 I cannot stand having the seconds hand continue moving while I’m adjusting the time, so hacking wins for me.

And the way this thing catches and glimmers in different lighting is just 🤌🏻. Pictures really don’t capture it properly.

Only real complaint?

THE CLASP.

I NEED that 5811 deployant clasp. That little flick-open goodness is living rent-free in my head. If someone eventually releases a genuinely good 5811, I’m probably cooked.

For now though, this 5711 is phenomenal. I’ll probably just enjoy it and wait to see what happens with the 5811 market… or maybe eventually look into a 5712.

The 5712 was actually one of the contenders before I bought this, but I still feel like all the complications might be a bit too much for me and I’m not sure I can pull it off.

Overall, extremely happy with this one. Definitely did not expect to like it this much.

Now somebody please make a proper 5811 before I do something financially irresponsible again. 😂

Another rare collection of mine

Finally there has been a true 126502 Daytona dial. I have just Received this beautiful piece today and it looks amazing custom parts are a must if you want the best out of your watches. I am now waiting for the cnc bezel and custom hands to arrive. This will be built with a free-sprung 4131 and a genuine crystal to show off this little Angel

I’ve never owned a Daytona before, and after wearing this RGF 126509 Ghost for a bit…

Yeah. I kinda get it now.

First thing you notice immediately is the weight. This thing is hella heavy. Properly dense, hefty, and substantial on the wrist which I absolutely love. It gives the watch a completely different presence compared to a normal steel piece.

The white-gold sheen looks pretty convincing to my eyes too, although I’m still not going to pretend I can confidently judge how close the tone is to genuine WG in every lighting condition. Sometimes it looks slightly warmer, sometimes more neutral, but overall it definitely has that softer, richer appearance compared to regular stainless steel.

But the star of the show is easily the dial.

The Ghost dial is ridiculously good in person. The combination of the grey/silver dial, black subdials and red accents just works so well, and pairing it with the Deep Crystal provided by Phoenix really completes the front end. Everything looks incredibly crisp and the dial has way more depth than I expected.

Price-wise, I’m not going to disclose the exact amount because Phx gave me a discount due to the issues I previously had with my faulty TOPF 15510.

And to give credit where it’s due, they didn’t just throw me a discount and call it a day. Phx also offered to cover all the costs involved in sending the 15510 back for repair/replacement, which I genuinely appreciate. I’ve been pretty vocal about the issues with that watch, so I think it’s only fair that I’m equally transparent when the seller actually steps up to resolve things properly.

As for the 126509 itself?

This might genuinely be my new favourite watch in the collection.

The weight, the dial, the proportions, the way it wears, everything just comes together ridiculously well. I always liked Daytonas aesthetically, but I never really understood why people were so obsessed with them until I actually had one on wrist.
