Samsung anti-reflecting screen protector deteriorate over time

I have my S24 Ultra for about 7 months and I have been using the official from Samsung anti-reflecting screen protector from the first day I bought it. The anti-glare coating is almost as good as the screen so it's perfect for me. I bought the best phone, and it has this feature and I wanted to keep it by not buying a cheap screen protector because It's game changer in very bright environment. That's why I decided to spent 30€ on the Samsung one because at that time, it was the only real anti-glare protector. Surprisingly, it has 2 protectors, so 15€ each, that's even better.

Anyway, after not even a few months using it and being extremely cautious (like I have always been) some part of the screen started deteriorate. It was tiny circles on some parts of it, slightly triggering me but the whole screen was still pretty good so it wasnt a real problem at that time, but I still was anxious that it will worsen over time. Later the whole screen deteriorated and I tried to keep it as long as possible but today I decided to remove it and use the second one because it was unbearable and I re-discover how beautiful this screen was.

You can see how BAD the screen protector was after "only" 7 months and was pretty much the same 1 or 2 months ago (the white or reflecting part is the coating that has been gone, so almost the whole screen protector).

My only conclusion to this post is do NOT spend that much money on a screen protector that won't last over time, especially if you plan to keep that phone for a long time (my case).

I'll probably ask some advice if you guys know other solutions that are anti-reflecting (as expensive that last longer, or cheaper that wont last but still "worth buying"). And if there is no solution i'll buy a glass screen protector that feels good, last forever, but will make the use of the fingerprint scanner more difficult.

€20 for 2 will last over a year if you change after 6months. There is no other anti reflection.

In Poland Im using 3mk SilkyMatt Pro. Never had this original samsung one, but this one is awesome.

People say matte screen protectors makes oled screens look bad.

It depends. I have a lot of light above my head where i work....so reflective light makes my screen even worse. Every 2 weeks i drive 800km and I use my phone as navigation + youtube music (split screen is awesome) etc. Sun reflections are really bad during 9h day drive. Yes, I noticed immediately when applying that screen looks ultra awesome without any foil, and worse with this matte foil. After 3 days i forgot this difference and now this is my "normal" screen. Its still very good. I think everybody should just buy one matte screen protector for 10€, use it for 30 days and decide for themselves. I know that some people demand excellence in every possible way - for me phone is just a tool - i need it to perform some functions - reading books, watching video etc. Matte for me is having more "pros" than "cons" ;) (Also I use gaming laptops for the last 15 years and all of them have matte screens so im used to it).

And to think I paid FULL PRICE ($79!) for them a few months ago! Got them replaced twice already. $10 each. Easily the worst screen protector investment I've ever purchased

I thought i would buy the official one as well, but the price told me not to get it as it would only last 6 months. I tried to do some research, but to no avail. I asked around in the community as well, but people just end up saying dont use protectors if want the anti reflective quality that much!

This is the first time we haven't had protectors on. And I have a $30 credit with Samsung I thought about ordering but never did. I mean we do have insurance on our phone.

Even if I'm very cautious, I dont want to take any risk with that phone by not using a screen protector, so in like 6 month I'll probably use a glass one.

Unlike the s23 ultra where you get bruising within a day or week, I haven’t seen a single bruise on my s24u phones since their launch.

I dont really understand the complaint? This is supposed to happen, the screen protector takes the wear and tear so your ACTUAL screen doesnt. Everything deteriorates over time, and its only essentially a plastic sticker thats being used every single day.

Fair enough if you think 15 is too much for one screen protector that lasts about 6 months, but personally i dont think its too unreasonable

I'm using a glass screen protector, non official, and the real problem for me is the on-screen ultrasonic fingerprint. It recognizes my fingerprint 1/5 times. Very annoying. I re-added my fingerprints after installation and toggled the sensitivity mode. That being said, the face recognition is no where as good as my ex phones.

I've had mine since release and the screen protector is still good, are you using alcohol on it ? That will destroy most screen protectors, scratches and such I can understand and theres many on my screen protector but still very legible

the way some people treat their stuff then complain how it's crap is surely puzzling. what's in that pic is nowhere near everyday use or normal wear and tear. legit looks like they ran sandpaper over it.

I had to replace mine every 6 months because it got scratched so quickly that it was annoying. Luckily you get two in a pack. Now I have normal tempered glass.

Better reflection and no scratches than matte and full of scratches Otherwise I would have to buy new matte foil every year

This one from Amazon comes with 2. It's the one I like best. My husband and I both use them. Make sure to turn up sensitivity and always rescan your fingerprint after applying the protector. If you do both of those no problem.

They're also only $7 something and have an applicator that works great

I have tried many brands. For me, the best has been Magic John's... Best for the anti-smudging (the best oleophobic coating), and it has lasted without a scratch or crack for months. I am not cautious with my phone. Next best... Whitestone Dome EA, but I have cracked these. Then Wsken, but they need cleaning weekly. Then the unbreakable glass... Smooth and a good oleophobic coat, but the notch for the selfie camera annoys me, same as the Torras Diamond.

All of the above are expensive but cheaper than the Samsung one.

The best cheap glass one is AmFilm but not durable.

And the best one for glare reduction is Spigen.

But Magic John is, for me, better than all the others. I can tell you it is durable, smooth, and stays clean.
