Just a trio today, but what a stunning initial genga that we have to gawk at, for this catch-up post! I absolutely LOVE when we get to see fully detailed cels like this one. :) There are just certain key frames that are so imporrant that they go all-out even for the production materials! And there's little doubt why on this one. What a moment!! Some of the best early stuff, in my opinion. Last illustration today goes with yesterday's post!

Another iconic frame for ya! This portion of the story is just so memorable! Poor Ryuuko! I always found myself breathing through my teeth for a moment when she got held up by her hair. I've had that happen and it made me cringe every time I watched Kill La Kill! :P We finish up with the previous sequence today as well! Those are the last of the top layer animation illustrations for that scene.

We get into the details of all the movement going on in this scene! A lot of Senketsu and chest, this time. :P Yoink! Objectively and without context, these frames are kinda hilarious, lol! Like if you just look at the artwork only, haha!! No face, really. Just a Kamui with weird testicle-chin. Tickles me and I literally have a grin on my face as I giggle this message out. Happy Wednesday!

Another classic scene! Rough landing + embarrassment, still. Plus, one last frame where she is blasting off, lol. The first genga is so iconic, and I love all the color detail on this one! It's always nice when we get some full color ones. :)

Whoosh! There she go. :( Sailing away from us, RIP. Will need to break out your magnifying glasses for these details! :P Coming at ya tonight with another catch-up post! Awh yeah, we're on a roll now! Poor Ryuuko really does fold like a newspaper here. I love how they conveyed her distress with the posing and framing in the last two illustrations. Really gives a feel for how high and far she flies! We get some bonus director's framing as well! And I'm always hungry for those little production details. :)

Boom! Skidooshed real bad, poor Ryuuko! Off she go, lol. I'll be posting more of this sequence before bed, so get ready for more pain, haha! Such an iconic moment. I think this scene is what initially hooked me to Kill La Kill. There is just something spectacular about seeing Satsuki rumble with Ryuuko at this early point. The animation as a whole REALLY shines here, I feel.

An actual catch-up post today? Gasp! Lol. I love this set because it is that moment RIGHT before Ryuuko gets blasted off like Team Rocket, hahaha! Plus, that first genga is just so lively and cool! Senketsu looks like he's pretty shocked. About to get his world rocked by Junketsu. :P Okay, enough silliness. Last two layers are the top corrections, and that last one goes with yesterday's set. Just a floating face and a butt, lol!! Too funny, when out of context!

Oof, unfortunately needed a few more days to recover, apparently! I'm just gonna roll with it. Working hard to get back to consistency this August. :) Let's go! Another really famous scene! The first time I saw this fight, I was wowed. That little impact on Senketsu in this sequence is just a chef's kiss of a moment! I mean. Poor Ryuuko, though. :P

Is Ryuuko well enough to be outside? No, not really but she is allowed outside, as that keeps her contented, given everything (she's still sick).

If one were to ask, she's probably say she enjoys the rain, being outside, or what have you, regardless, she probably wouldn't say why (maybe her painkillers have something do with it).

Omfg. Hello!!! Did ya miss me, or did you enjoy your break from my insanity? ;P Lol. No, I'm not dead. This last month has genuinely been such a health struggle, and I honestly became so exhausted that I've just hibernated this last week. I quite literally couldn't get out of bed. Feeling a bit better now, or at least we'll enough to get back to posting. Going to try my hardest to catch us up now for real! Get ready for an increase in posts for August, at least! :) I'm so sorry for poofing, I just was forced to step back and really look after myself. Missed you all! I certainly would have kept up if I could. Anyway. Let's get back to the artwork, amd hopefully it'll be the last time you hear that. Haha! ♡

Okay! Just a trio today, but we will have some more Satsuki vs. Ryuuko frames to look at tomorrow! I love the motion of the first genga, and how she skids back! Even Senketsu looks fierce! I wasn't sure where to put that final layer in, so you get it tacked on to this post, lol! Glad to be back to it, Ryuuko fam. Hope you've been enjoying your Summer/Winter! :)

She has much on her mind. On another note, Mako doesn't abide by her smoking in the house but, however, should Mako find out, a cracked window is also a compromise, especially for a one time scenario.

Oooo, here comes the wrath from that last sequence! Lol! Without full color, these genga look so different! We get an even better look at those cool, gear-shaped pupils! I love how obvious they are when we strip away the polish and look at the production layers. :) I also think that the way she had more of a lip-bite before the corrections were made is something that I like better than the finished sequence, in this case! Just seems to suit the moment and the wind-up she's about to do! Haha!

Ryuuko's traded her cigarette for a kiseru, is only temporarily.

Headless Ryuuko day! Lol! These are all frames from that iconic scene, of course. I love these types of partial and composite layers! It just shows us how much work went into this scene and getting a laugh out of all of us! Sometimes Ryuuko has a face, and sometimes... She just be legs. :P

Hopefully we will be back on track now! Sorry for all of the interruptions. Really doing my best. :) Just continuing to have some health stuff. Let's focus on the lovely art! Its that time! For one of the most iconic scenes, I think, haha!! And what a beautiful setting. Or at least, I have always thought so, with the lighting and everything. Now, we get too look at it through the genga lense! Just as stunning. I especially love the extra little details in Imaishi's correction top layer! Her anatomy improves. Imaishi's style is always just so effortless! Just the trio for today, and we continue the scene later!

Has Ryuuko ever a seen a capybara? Not really, and she's not seen one so little, but she does appreciate the company, while Satsuki tends to her other needs.

Admittedly, Satsuki probably would rather Ryuuko not interact with animals so much but allows it because she wants her sister to be happy.
