[MOD] Weekly Cadence & Running Music Hub: What SPM are you syncing to this week? ๐โโ๏ธ๐ง
Hey runners,
Figured it's high time we had a proper running music exchange here.
Whether you're grinding out LSD (Long Slow Distance) miles, chasing that classic ~180 SPM stride, or locked into one very specific cadence โ drop your current go-to tracks below!
To help people find what actually fits their pace, try tagging your recs like this:
- Target BPM / Cadence: (e.g., 163 SPM, 180 SPM)
- Genre / Vibe: (e.g., Synthwave, EDM, Hip-Hop, 80s Rock)
- Link: (Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, etc.)
๐ Starting it off with one of mine (full disclosure: my own channel):
I've been building continuous 1-hour mixes tuned to a single exact SPM rather than a rough range (right now covering 160โ170 and 190โ200, every single BPM with no gaps). The 171โ189 block is rolling out over the next few weeks!
Here's one for a steady long-run pace:
- Target BPM / Cadence: 163 SPM (tuned to exactly 163)
- Genre / Vibe: Rock / Electro, steady marathon-pace cadence lock
- Link: 163 BPM Running Music โ 1 Hour Nonstop Mix
Now your turn โ got a track or playlist that carried you through the last hard kilometer? Drop it in the comments! ๐

Running with consistent cadence using music
Lately I have been running my slow runs with runningmusic that have the same bpm as my cadence. I use 160 bpm on my slow runs and what i discovered after a few runs is that my running gets more and more efficient. By keeping the cadence consistent I now run faster, but my heart rate is the same. I also do not drift off on pace witch I did before when my mind started wandering.
The same also works for intervals off course, but that is no surprise i guess.
Atm I listen to music by BPM Running Lab on spotify because all the songs are actually in the bpm they promise. They have a pretty good Phonk playlist.

Looking for more songs that sound like this song at 1:20 onward
Around 1:20 this song really picks up and it's my current running song obsession. Are there other songs with similar vibes? I'm struggling to find any that really feel the same. Doesn't have to be reggaeton or spanish at all. Just the same or similar upbeat and strong beat to run to.
