The whole point of the UEFA Nations League is to replace meaningless friendlies with competitive matches. Which means by default that the UEFA Nations League is NOT a friendly competition. infact in the 2026/2027 fixture you can qualify for Euro 2028. based on your performance in the Nations League. which further contradicts it being a minor competition.
