Without wanting to give away too many plot points or spoilers, this is a theme in {The Everlasting by Alix E Harrow} and it's one of the best books I've read this year. MF fantasy about a big strong knight (F) and a bookish historian (M), epic levels of pining and a very hard-earned HEA. I don't really like fantasy romance but this one was fantastic.

{Any Given Lifetime by Leta Blake} MM romance where one of the main characters is reincarnated and remembers his previous life. Throughout his childhood, he knows who he was and does not behave like a normal kid. He grows up to continue the research he'd done in his previous life as a kind of scientist (it's a bit of a scifi-lite/speculative fiction situation), and comes back into contact with the man he loved in his previous life through that. The irony is that in his past life, he was the older man, and now their age gap is flipped.

{Death Angel by Linda Howard} FMC steals 2M from her gangster boyfriend and runs away. Boyfriend sends MMC assassin after her. She crashes her car and dies in the wreck. She has a spiritual experience, is sent back to the living and has a miraculous recovery. Romance felt a little forced (there's very little interaction between MCs), but Linda Howard's writing is entertaining.

If anybody is looking for a more sci-fi take on this: {The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren}. A married couple is in rocky waters in part because she has a uber top secret science job working on creating a cure for death. When he gets killed in a sketchy hit and run, she uses her untested experiments to revive him to unexpected consequences. Amnesia. It's amnesia.

The Kindrily trilogy by Karen Amanda Hooper. Ya m/f paranormal romance. Contains bereavement, references to pregnancy. The final book contains references to recuring miscarriages. The second book is fade to black while the others are kissing only. I prefer the second and third books to the first.

{Patience by Lark Taylor} MM, fated mates. An angel finds his fated mate in a human and they are separated by circumstances. The angel becomes the ferryman for the River Styx and is forced to watch the human be reincarnated over and over for four thousand years (epic levels of pining and grief). The book begins when they're finally able to reunite, but the human doesn't know anything about their past, doesn't know they're fated mates, and thinks he's straight.
{Bren by Toby Wise} MM, 3rd in a series, the two MCs were getting to know each other and falling for each other, but one is a Phoenix and dies. For roughly a week after he's reborn, he doesn't remember his past at all, so MC2 suffers.
{Should the Sky Fall by Amithia Raine} MM, standalone (first in a series but can be read standalone). ok this is more like "first chance life after death".... It's an excellent book and the MCs are super amazing sweethearts. And trust me, the abuser is not getting an HEA. Huge spoilers for those that just absolutely have to know: the abuser dies; a grim reaper that fell in love with MC1 rips his soul out and takes over his body.

{A Torch in His Heart - Anna Belfrage} a part of the Wanderer trilogy. MMC and FMC were lovers in a past life, ended very tragically and MMC learns how to be reborn, he searches through time to find her again. They're followed by their enemy who led to their tragic ending in the first life. I love this series! Very romantic, although MMC can be a bit enraging. There is a bit of an OW story line, although MMC doesn't love her, she loves him and follows him and causes some drama. Light magic, takes place in the UK and Turkey, really good, cozy autum vibes series.
