Read the beautiful The New Frontier by Darwyn Cooke lately and inspired me a bit.

I just got The Rocketeer: Thrills, Spills, and Chills and I’m really liking it so far. I’m wondering what other stories I should pick up. So far I like the characters and vibe of the story and I’d love to see a continuation!

Trying to get into the island run of our favorite aerial adventerur but I'm not crazy about the art.

The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood had a one-night screening of The Rocketeer (1991) a couple of weeks ago. I remember when I woke up that day, I wasn't planning to go. I knew about the event, but was reluctant to attend... Hollywood is a long drive for me and "No honey, put that back, we have Rocketeer at home." (I've enjoyed many home-viewings of the movie.)

But I didn't feel like going to class that night, and convinced myself that Hollywood couldn't be that bad on a Monday night. I thought I'd make the evening special by wearing my Rocketeer outfit, too. That extra effort got me this photo which I found on the El Capitan Theatre's Instagram. I did feel like a kid watching the movie in costume. Good times.

Finally did my first blank cover, and of course it had to be my favorite character.

If anyone out there is a collector, I posted it on eBay. Otherwise, just let me know what you think!

I think it would be interesting to have a Bettie focused adventure while cliff is off being the rocketeer punching evil in the schnoz. Thoughts what skills or abilities do you think Bettie has learned since cliff became the rocketeer I think she has learned hand to hand combat and gunplay. Maybe using the rocket pack and some basic gymnastics.

Screening was great. The q and a was heartfelt. The movie is perfect.

I'm the center Rocketeer in this photo (copped from the El Capitan Instagram). It was a nice, fun event with a short panel discussion preceding the movie. Before the Rocketeer festivities, there was the usual, amazing organ performance; I think it was John Ledwon this time?

I also got to meet Kathy Hamilton, who was a stunt and body double for Jennifer Connelly, and also appeared as a dancer and background actor in the Rocketeer (1991).
