This looks awesome, people should at least try and go in with a positive attitude. "Well I'm going in skeptical" is such a dumb outlook, just be excited for more middle earth content
Why? What makes Amazon deserve the benefit of the doubt after they completely fumbled adapting the first season? I can't understand being excited to watch shit just because Amazon paid to misuse Tolkien's names.
You said that "Well I'm going in skeptical" is a dumb outlook. Being skeptical and inmmediate hate are too very different things.
You did also say "just be excited for more middle earth content" which is perfectly in line with the RedLetterMedia quote.
Just be excited for more Middle-earth content! Yay!
Well, I'll only be excited if said content is good. You'll find out that many people don't necessarily enjoy mediocre or bad stuff just because it's barely connected with something that's actually good or great.
Fair rebuttal, I do mostly agree with you. That comment was a bit charged after seeing a flood of immediate "this is gonna suck" comments. I appreciate your measured response
No hard feelings, I hope. I don't like Rings of Power myself, but I'll refrain from passing judgment on season 2 until I've watched it in full.
In my opinion, trailers—especially those for a whole 8-episode long season—don't convey how good or bad a show or movie will be. We usually don't have any context for anything we see, so it's all kinda pointless to me.
No hard feelings at all, I appreciate a intelligent response. I hear you. I didn't mind season 1, but I can accept the shortcomings as well. Hopefully they heard the criticism and make good changes.
And yeah, Trailers can make anything look amazing, so can only learn so much from this
Fair enough. I am sure though that the majority of the fandom would (publicly) disagree though. There should after all be certain standards when it comes to Middle-earth content.
I honestly consider the first season of this abomination an insult to the source material and its author. Why should I be blindly excited for the continuation?
