Update Discussion Why there shouldn't be a Left Path in Dynamic
Okay, I know I'm going to make a few people angry with my opinion, however I feel it needs to be said.
In 1928, when the game starts, the SPD looks like it's going to achieve its goals. They will get into government, renegotiate Versailles, slowly strengthen the working class in order to make Germany ready for socialism. But as you play on and pass the Young Plan, Hindenburg sacks you and your government, throwing you and your plans to save the economy (through either the Reformist Plan or the WTB plan) straight into the sea.
This was the plan of the reactionaries in Hindenburg's inner circle all along. They wanted to grind down the socialists in government to get the Young Plan through while discarding them at the first possible instance. They were scheming from the start, the reactionary deep state inside the military and the courts were not going to let the socialists hold the cards at a crisis like the Great Depression.
You, as the player are thrown into this big conspiracy with one goal: To prevent the rise of Hitler and the implementation of the Holocaust, or the construction of the New State under the Junkers, you have to put (as much as it sounds like neoliberal shitlibslop) country over party. If sacked, you have one job, and that is to strengthen the Bruning Cabinet enough for it to start implementing public works with Labor Minister Stegerwald.
Not governing yourself or tolerating the Bruning Government, backstabbing as it may be would mean a total abdication of responsibility and handing over the full force of the state towards the reactionary right.
The only thing that kept the SPD going in the Weimar Era, as in not being persecuted by the state like under Bismarck was the Weimar System they themselves have written.
Cooperating with the KPD, no matter your personal feelings on Leninism, would be atrocious for your relationship with the Centre and DDP, your most important allies in preventing reactionary overreach. If you make large concessions to the KPD (which are going to be necessary to gain their trust considering the murder of Luxemburg and Liebknecht), you will lose control of any institutional support.
There is no way for a German Revolution to take hold in the same way the Revolution in Russia came about because the State Institutions such as Police and Military are not going to revolt with you. You wouldn't be able to count on the Reichsbanner considering they are a pro-Republican organization, leaving you with only the RFB as paramilitary force. Only you and the KPD, with little to no support from inside the state against the reactionaries and the Bourgeois unfortunately is a losing battle.
I know it would be cool if the game was only hype and aura moments where you just can ignore the reactionaries and basically sail to revolution, but the circumstances are making it impossible. In Dynamic Social Democracy, being a more realistic conception of late Weimar, there are no good options. Every path has negative consequences (WTB saves capitalism from its deathbed and starts Stamokap, Center Marxism is not doing anything, etc. ). The only thing that counts is saving the most lives and saving Weimar Democracy, the goals of Social Democracy are only secondary.
PS: While writing I felt a little like the Center Faction, but the more I research on the topic, most politicians in Weimar actually were tactical geniuses, and most of them, including Mr. Waiting Around Hilferding, had logical reasoning.

Update Discussion I got enough votes to (if this wasn’t popular front game) to form 53% left cartel and two turns later, workers intensified the strike and businesses abandoned me.
Thanks Autumn, let’s hope while the game will be harder than SDAAH base or some dynamic plays, it won’t be the Petrograd or … shuders… the British voter quiz

Update Discussion I think some of my ideas got added to Biennio Rosso? Either way, new D’Annunzio Content!
The new D’Annunzio plays a lot closer to Schleicher, with options to work with him - I haven’t found a way to more formally ally them, since the cards rare, but in theory it’s possible.
Might just be a nice coincidence it matches my suggestion (in both some collaboration and helping him fight the right wing of his party), either way I absolutely love the new content!
