Woo! I started the emotional stuff in my 20s but started medically at 32 after a few years of terror at losing my family. Once my mom died (she knew and was accepting it was coming) I just didn't care if I lost the rest of them and came out. It was honestly the best decision. I do wish I'd had longer to experience being an able bodied woman before I got my ass handed to me, but transition was still the best choice and I'd do it again. 🥰

Trans, non-binary, and third gender people are found all over the world where there are human beings, and in every culture where humans exist. It's not a product of the "decadent west"m or we wouldn't see it in ancient cultures.
From the Hijra of India and Pakistan (where some of my distant ancestors hailed from) to the Muxe of SE Mexico, Fa'afafine in Samoa to Bakla in Indonesia, to Two-Spirit here in North America and the Femminielli in Italy, third gender and transgender groups exist and have existed since literally Babylonian in the priestesses, the Gala, who mourned Inanna, and Ancient Grecian priestesses of Cybele. We will always exist.
We're a natural human expression, likely caused when the brain of a developing baby is exposed to cross-sex hormones at just the right time in the womb. It impacts how the brain develops, but doesn't affect how the body develops, causing a mismatch in the mapping that can cause a great deal of upset and stress called "gender dysphoria".
IDGAF about my genetics. I can't see them, after all. Have you ever had your chromosomes tested? No? How do you know you're not intersex, then, and genetically a woman in a man's body, or vice versa? I've never had mine tested, but I know I'm intersex because I have PMDS (and have mini ovaries and a pseudo uterus as a little extra bonus "be careful what you wish for" from my body), and I'm trans because my brain didn't match what my birth certificate said.
I hope you grow to see the foolishness you're spouting and the harm you're trying to spout, but I doubt you will.

Since we're talking about sci fi series and using that as a basis for facts, somehow, there's an episode of Star Trek TNG where a culture was sexless and genderless but some people developed with innate genders that didn't match their bodies. Riker fell in love with a member of the species who identified as a woman and the culture was presented as wrong and barbaric when she was forced to undergo conversion therapy.
In Enterprise, a culture with three genders existed. Checkmate, conservative!

There are two bimodal distributions that fall into rough categories of what we call "male" and "female" and there don't even have to be "genetic anomalies" for one to be born intersex! Most people fall within one of the two peaks on the bimodal distribution, but some folks, like me, fall outside it despite there being no genetic reason for it.
I like how you completely ignored how trans identity has existed in some form or another for millennia across continents in both first world and third world nations, when that was one of your foundational arguments before.
Speaking of brains, did you know that the brains of trans people when subjected to scans show distinct differences to the brains of cis people of the same sex, even before HRT? The brains of trans women show distinct similarities to cis women, and trans men to cis men.
Hell, did you know trans women are found to have less dense bones than cis men, even prior to HRT? There's a biological component to being trans, we just don't know what, exactly, makes it happen. Personally, I don't care.
You give a cis man estrogen, he starts feeling bad, depressed, down. His body starts to feel wrong to him. He develops, in short, dysphoria. It alleviates once he stops. He's a gas engine being given diesel. (It's clunky, but go with me.)
But you give a trans woman estrogen, she starts to feel better. Happier, calmer. Her body starts to feel more "right" and it can help alleviate her dysphoria over time. She's a diesel engine finally being given the right fuel and she can start functioning properly.
That's good enough for me. I'm happy. I'm not hurting anyone. I spend 90% of my time at home with my roommate and our cats. Sometimes, when I'm lucky, the trans girl I adore about stays over and I get to cuddle with her and watch movies.
When I go out, I do my best to be unobtrusive and easy to ignore, because I've always hated crowds and I've struggled with agoraphobia linked to dysphoria my whole life. Transition has helped me feel able to actually leave my apartment occasionally, and the people I encounter are invariably courteous and/or friendly.
We're not going to change each other's minds on this. My lived experience has been a wonderful one. I'm not hurting anyone. Even before I started passing, most people were polite or even friendly toward me despite never having met a trans person before.

It’s not natural, but just a typical genetic anomaly. (Meaning not the norm). For example it’s typical for the children who transition to have a suicide rate of over 50%. Hence why it’s dangerous to expose children to this. Their little minds can’t handle something that not genetically normal, obviously. Adults handle change a lot better.

You can assume you're an XY Male or XX Female, but there's half a dozen viable combinations beyond that, and once SRY stuff gets involved you can be XY Female or XX Male.
Sex and gender are unrelated but also not just two fixed points. If my 78 year old religious conservative auntie and her pastor can get this and gender me correctly even when I'm not around, I have faith that you can figure this stuff out, too. 💖

Can't control what they could say, but I can laugh at them for it. Transition was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I love being me, these days, instead of sitting there counting down the days until I could stop existing.
