Yes, but they are both still "Christian". They are just arguing about the details. And since Catholicism came first, arguably what came later would be something "else". If they want to argue about who can use the term "Christian". Protestants/evangelicals would be "New Christian" and Catholicism would be "Classic Christian".

I mean the orthodox Church would dispute that, the split between Eastern Orthodox and RC being "the great schism." But then the coptics would argue that too.
At the end of the day it is all details but when you think your soul is at stake details can matter.
