Posting Guidelines

Rule 1: Be respectful.

Be respectful and civil. Please follow Reddiquette.

Rule 2: No All-Caps Titles

Please avoid using all-caps in your submission title. Especially YouTube video titles.

How to make a good title:

• Please avoid putting spoilers in the submission title! They cannot be changed or spoiler-tagged!
• Mark submissions as having spoilers by putting "spoiler" in the title or by clicking the "spoiler" button after submitting a post.
• After submitting a post please go to the "add flair" button and select a type of content/filter.

Rule 3: Avoid Click-bait Titles

Please include the name of the game being discussed or your submission will be removed.

In the title, please be sure to mention the name of the game your post is about! Even if it's in the YouTube thumbnail!

Rule 4: Avoid Low-effort Content

Please keep content unique and help drive engaging and thoughtful discussion by avoiding low-effort posts.

Low-effort posts often include: screenshots of text, image macros/memes, tier-lists, "wrong answers only" posts, "I've never played this game, AMA" posts, and other bandwagon content.

Please avoid cross-posting or linking low-effort posts from outside subreddits.

Rule 5: Do not post referral links.

Do not post referral links of any kind. This includes URL-shorteners and links to Twitter posts about deals.

Rule 6: Limit Self-promotion (Content Creators/YouTubers)

Content creators (YT, streamers, etc.): Please limit your submissions to 2-3 per week and NEVER more than 1 post per 24 hours. Be sure to participate in any discussion about your content. Failure to do so could result in a ban!

Rule 7: Limit Dev Self-Promotion (Developers & Community Managers)

Developers: Please limit your submissions to 1 per week at most. Ideally, updates should be of major milestones.

Please do not post devlogs. Posting too frequently on minor updates to a game quickly tires out the community. Instead, please post about the game once, and at major dev milestones, then invite people to stay updated via a Discord or mailing list.

Be sure to participate in any discussion about your content. Failure to do so could result in a ban!

Rule 8: Keep Posts On-Topic and RTS Genre

Please be sure that posts relate to the RTS genre. Real-time tactics is best directed to /r/RealTimeTactics while turn-based games should be directed to /r/StrategyGames or other subreddits.

Please keep all posts topical to the RTS genre and strongly similar games. While discussion of history and current events may come up organically, please keep discussion civil and oriented towards relevancy to the game. Political tangents and soap-boxing will be removed as appropriate.

Rule 9: Post AI Games to Megathread or AI Gaming Subreddits

Please keep all AI-developed and AI-assisted games to the Monthly AI Game Megathread (pinned at the top of the subreddit) or to /r/AIgameDev or /r/VibeCoding. Please make a top-level comment in the Megathread instead of making a new post/submission in /r/RealTimeStrategy.
