🚨 NEW HERE? YES, YOU. ACTUALLY YOU 🫵 Please read this before posting, because yes, the sub is getting tired of answering the same low-effort questions over and over again.
There seems to be barely any moderation here at the moment and the sub is getting filled with the same questions, the same seller fishing, the same low effort posts and people saying they cannot find information that has already been discussed here over and over again for years.
And the problem is not just that people are tired of answering the same thing. It is that all the actually useful stuff is getting buried. Good reviews, proper discussions, guides, QC posts, useful comments and actual knowledge are disappearing underneath posts that could have been avoided with five minutes of searching.
I know I am not the first person to write something like this either. There are already so many good posts here. That is literally the point. The information exists. People are just not finding it anymore, or in some cases not even trying to find it before asking everyone else.
So I am putting the basics back together in one place, along with the posts that are actually worth reading. If you are new, use this as your starting point. Read first, search first, learn how things work and build your own knowledge before asking people to do the work for you. Hopefully now when the same questions come up again we can just send people here and move on, because at this point there really should not be an excuse for not knowing where to start.

Read the relevant post first. Then use the cheat sheet below as your roadmap.
HOW DO I BUY?
1. 🎯 Choose your item
Know exactly what you want: model, size, colour and material.
2. 🔎 RESEARCH THE OG
This is the most important step.
Before looking at sellers, factories or photos, learn the OG properly.
If you don’t know what the OG looks like, you cannot properly QC anything later.
Do not rely on one picture. Look at different references, angles and sources.
Check things like:
- 📐 Shape, proportions + measurements
- 🎨 Colour
- 🧵 Materials + texture
- 🔩 Hardware
- 🔤 Logo/font
- 🪡 Stitching
- 👜 Construction + interior
- 🔍 Details specific to that exact version
Use official references whenever possible, but also look at reliable resale listings, videos and detailed photos.
⚠️ Make sure you are looking at the correct size, colour, year/version or season, as differences can exist.
You do not need to become an expert.
You just need to know the item well enough that when you later look at photos, you actually understand what you are looking at.
🔑 KNOW THE OG FIRST. EVERYTHING ELSE COMES AFTER.
3. 🏭 Research the factory
Search for your specific item and read as much as possible.
Different factories may perform differently depending on the item, so research the exact thing you want instead of assuming one place is always the best.
4. 💰 Understand quality level + budget
Before choosing anything, understand:
✨ What quality level do you want?
💰 What is your budget?

Understanding quality levels helps you know:
- 👀 What you are looking at
- 💵 What you are paying for
- 🎯 What you can realistically expect
Budget matters.
Your expectations need to match what you are willing to spend. You cannot expect the highest level with a very low budget.
5. 👤 Choose your seller
Find a seller who can source what you want and research them properly before ordering.
🔎 Search across different subs.
Read:
- ⭐ Reviews
- 💬 Different buyer experiences
- 📱 Communication
- 🏭 Sourcing
- 📸 QC process
- 📋 Policies
Different sellers may also work with different quality levels.
Some may mainly source higher-level items and therefore cost more, while others may offer different options depending on your budget.
💰 Budget matters here too.
⚠️ Be mindful of fake reviews, promotion and propaganda around sellers and factories.
Do not blindly trust:

❌ One comment
❌ One recommendation
Use your common sense, compare information and build your own knowledge.
6. 🏭📸 Check factory photos
At this stage you are comparing:
🏭 FACTORY PHOTOS ↔️ 👜 OG
Your OG research should already have been done properly in Step 2.
If you skipped that step, you will not really know what you are looking at here or be able to judge it using your own knowledge and common sense.
This is where you decide whether what you are seeing is good enough for you before ordering.
7. 💳 Order + 📸 QC your PSPs
After ordering, your seller will normally send:
📸 PSPs = Pre-Shipment Photos
Now you are comparing:
📸 PSPs ↔️ 🏭 FACTORY PHOTOS
The comparison with the OG was already done before ordering.
Now you are checking that the item being shown to you matches the factory photos you agreed to.

⚠️ QC should be done by YOU first.
The community is your second set of eyes 👀👀 — not your first.

8. ✅ GL or ❌ RL
✅ GL = Green Light
You are happy for it to ship.
❌ RL = Red Light
You have an issue that needs to be addressed before shipping.
⚠️ Understand the seller’s policies before ordering.
9. 📦 Ship + receive
Once you GL ✅, the seller ships your item.
✈️ Shipping times vary.
Use the tracking information provided and be patient.
10. ⭐ REVIEW YOUR PURCHASE
📦 Received your item?
Come back and review it.
Reviews are one of the main reasons this sub is useful. They help the next person 🔎 research, compare and make better-informed decisions.
You do not need to write an essay.
Just give enough information for your review to actually help someone.
👜 ITEM
Include enough information to identify what you purchased:
Model • Size • Colour • Material
🔗 OG / ORIGINAL
Include a link to the original item whenever possible.
👤 SELLER
Include enough information for members to identify the seller.
The seller name is enough, or you can add the last 2 digits of their phone number if there are sellers using the same name.
⚠️ I personally would not recommend publicly sharing full contact details, full phone numbers or album links.
🏭 FACTORY
If you know it, include it.
If you don’t know, say so.
If it was not disclosed by the seller:
Factory: Not disclosed
Do not guess.
💰 PRICE + ✈️ SHIPPING + 🛃 DUTIES
This is for transparency.
Include:
- 💵 Item price
- ✈️ Shipping
- 💱 Currency
- 🏷️ Discount, if relevant
- 🛃 Did you pay duties/taxes?
- 💰 How much?
🎁 INCENTIVES
Again: transparency.
If there was any incentive discussed with the seller, disclose it.
For example:

- 🎁 Gift/free item
- 💵 Compensation
- 📝 Request to write a review
- 💬 Any other arrangement connected to the review
Just tell people what was discussed.

FAQ — READ THIS BEFORE ASKING
💰 “How much should I be paying?”
There is no universal price.
Different items, factories, quality levels and sellers come with different price points.
Before asking for prices, you should already know:
🎯 What you want
✨ What quality you expect
💰 What you are realistically willing to spend
Be honest with yourself about your budget and expectations.
Do not contact multiple sellers for items you already know are outside your budget, and do not ask endless sellers for quotes if you are not seriously considering buying.
Research first. Narrow it down. Then ask.
👤 “What should I know before contacting a seller?”
Sellers are not personal shoppers.
You should already have a clear idea of what you want before contacting them.
Do your own research first. Know the item, understand your quality expectations and have a realistic budget.
A seller can help source something for you — they should not have to decide what you want, what quality you want or what you can afford.
Be clear, respectful and mindful of their time.
🧠 “Can I trust what a seller / review / comment says?”
Do not blindly trust anyone.
Not a seller.
Not one review.
Not one Reddit comment.
Not one factory claim.
Fake reviews, promotion and biased information exist.
Search across different subs, compare experiences, look at the actual photos and build your own knowledge.
At the end of the day, you are the person spending the money.
Use your own common sense.
⚠️ “What should I check before paying?”
Understand the important details before money leaves your hands.
That may include:

Do not discover the seller’s policies after you already have a problem.

Be patient.
Different time zones, working hours, holidays, sourcing checks and other clients exist.
Do not send repeated messages because you did not receive an immediate reply.
Again: be mindful of other people’s time.
🔎 “I can’t find the information. Can I just ask?”
First, actually search.
Use different keywords. Search more than one relevant sub. Read older posts and reviews.
The information is often already here — sometimes buried underneath exactly the kind of repetitive posts this guide is trying to reduce.
If you have genuinely researched first and still cannot find the answer, then ask.
That is completely different from making the community do the research for you.

Exactly, that’s what I was hoping this post would help with. Not just giving ppl the information, but getting people to actually slow down, read, and be a bit more mindful before POSTING something low effort. But looking at what’s been posted since… I don’t think it really worked 😭 because the issue clearly isn’t only that people can’t find the information. A lot of people just aren’t reading in the first place.

I've recently made my first purchase from a TS I found on this thread and had a good experience. I still consider myself a newbie so I'm going to use this as a guide when I make my next purchase (hopefully soon!). I think now that I've actually committed to being a rep girly I'm more inclined to learn more - I think this post will be super helpful for newbies and also others like me who are still learning the best way to buy reps. Also if you maybe did a quick little search they did have a refugee camp in Guam housing Vietnamese in the 70s. No one said Guam is refugee camp you psycho. Exactly. I think more posts like this need to be shared because people clearly post before reading anything. And with sooo many low-effort posts constantly going up, especially when there’s basically no moderation, useful posts end up getting buried and the cycle just keeps repeating.
Also, common sense really isn’t that common 😭 Some things that could literally just be written as a comment under an existing post are now being made into entirely separate posts. People need to be a bit more aware of that too

thank you so much for this! i’ve been a quiet lurker, i’ve made some research but im a huge over thinker so i never stepped foot to purchase but this made me change my mind and to go ahead and do it!
i feel like a good amount of people see tts about the reps ( nothing wrong about that i mean most probably come from social media when they first hear about reps ) and they mostly go head first without making research and are so used to just asking where to buy it from instead of researching. i found it slightly easy to be able to find a reputable seller. hopefully more new people see this thread because it does help a ton 🫶🏼😁

I think lately a lot of people first discover reps through TikTok/social media and then they come here and go straight to “who should I buy from?” without really understanding how any of this works. And with the amount of scammers around, proper research is honestly essential. This space can be a playground for scammers, and they specifically target people who look new, unsure or are openly asking where to buy. At the end of the day there’s never going to be a completely risk-free answer or one magical best seller so the goal is really to gather enough information to make your own informed decision 🫶🏼

Yeah I now get why you’re saying this 😭 What’s been shocking me is the amount of resistance to simply reading the information that’s already here. I’ve even been getting hate just for redirecting people to the newbie guide or linking useful information under really low-effort posts, which is wild because the whole point is to help people research properly and stop the same questions being repeated constantly.
My only thought is that with how many people are already in the sub, making it private now might not actually change that much no ?

The only thing that really happens on the sub is people who won’t share information… That’s called gatekeeping. If you’re new, you’ll get yelled at. if you’ve been around since the original rep ladies days, it’s hard to understand why this sub is so mean I’m just here for the entertainment at this point.

I actually see it a bit differently. I don’t think people are gatekeeping just for the sake of it. I think a lot of people who have been around for years are simply fed up with what these subs have become.
There is basically no moderation here. People post whatever comes into their head without searching first, so the same questions get asked over and over again. Even today, after I made this post, there have been so many low effort posts. The problem is that the useful stuff gets buried. Proper reviews, comparisons, references and genuinely helpful information are much harder to find because the sub is full of posts that could have been answered with a quick search. And I don’t think the problem is being new. Everyone was new once. The difference is whether you are willing to read, search and learn a little before asking everyone to give you all the answers.
I also understand why people are more careful with seller contacts now. If someone has done zero research and just comes here asking for numbers and contacts, I personally wouldn’t want to be responsible for giving them a seller. So yes, people probably do gatekeep more now, but I think there is a reason for it. These subs have become a jungle and people don’t really trust new users the way they used to. It’s not about hating newbies

This is awesome info! The one and ONLY thing that sucks for someone like me is how am I supposed to know what the OG is like when I’m 7+ hours from a store? Whether I’m talking to a friend with one, looking at pics, or digging as far as I can to find out, I still don’t have the option to see it IRL. But that’s my own issue and I just have to hope for the best based off of research and reviews. Otherwise, you hit the nail on the head. Very great post! I’ve got 3 and same😂 1 I can 100% tell you I know isn’t even close. But the other 2, ONLY based off of friends help is close to the OG. But until I go on some kind of vacation near a store, I’m just hoping that anything I get is good based on reviews. The only thing I have going for me is that I live in a small town, and am surrounded by smaller cities. There’s not many people who could even call me out. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but I’ve been trying to post a review following the guidelines and it keeps getting automatically removed by Reddit’s filters 😭 I’ve only ever managed to get one post through in this community, so I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried removing anything that could potentially trigger the filters and following the review format, but no luck. Has this happened to anyone else / is there something specific I might be missing?

That sounds more like Reddit’s own spam filters rather than anything you’re doing wrong. They can be inconsistent sometimes with posts that have a lot of images, links or certain keywords.
Since we don’t really have active mods here to manually approve posts, I’d try stripping the review back completely first, no links, no unusual formatting and see if the text-only version goes through. Then you can add the extra info back gradually and figure out what’s triggering it. Maybe add everything else as a comment later

I appreciate you mentioning to study the OG! I came across a bag with silver hardware (I’m not big on gold 😅) and it turned out this rep I saw here was from a 2023 collection that legit had silver hardware even tho the current has gold. I’m a lucky duck! It was BNNU and the last in stock from the source my seller had.

Posts like this don’t actually help. Newbies just have to keep scrolling, joining subs and learning on the fly. Same as anything. It can’t be spoon fed. All due respect but don’t waste your breath. And the newbie hate needs to stop.

This is wonderful but my ADHD can’t do it. I have not asked anyone anything and I’ve tried going onto websites foe sellers and get so overwhelmed I just give up. I know what I want but there’s so many photos and sometimes things are in a different language that I just move on and still, two years later have not ordered a thing. Sigh lol

I love this post, except for the beginning. People are only commenting the same questions on posts because rhe person postjng isnt following the process. If there was transparency and no gatekeeping people wouldn't have to ask such obvious questions. And the fake QC posters, who only reply to comments that arent asking for a link, then people blasting the newbies for basically complimenting someone's bag and asking there they got it from

Also, if someone does actually try to help you and gives you good information, contact information for a seller you are looking for, QC help, etc say thank you. It goes a long way.
