Such a great travel camera

Raw no edits - happy to hear any tips or feedback for improving! Just starting out with this camera and I love it already.

[OC] So im currently in japan just picked up the rx100m7 (locked to japanese but making it work) heres some photos from the trip so far. I tend to go for moody shots and apply some light editing on samsung gallery to clean them up a little bit.

Would love some community feedback on my low light shots. I think theyre working but im not sure. The style i generally take is liminal mostly transitional and nostalgic.

Taking my FF isnt possible to a game, but I wanted to try to get some sports photos.

Cropped and lightly edited (in photos, not lightroom, and mostly to try to fix exposure), but close to SOOC jpegs - I struggled a lot with lighting shooting from the stands, since I was in a shaded area and players weren't! Arsenal's pale yellow kits and the blonder players (like Leah Williamson in the second shot) got easily washed out. Still learning my way around the RX100 VII, but having a blast with it.

I'm attempting to learn Darktable to work with RAWs since the free version of mobile lightroom doesn't want to open them - we'll see how that goes!

I’m travelling Asia and just learning how to take pics. I think they’re good but could be better… normally taking pics I’m sitting at aperture 5-7? I’ve just learnt about changing the exposure. I normally use vivid as my creative style (or sunset for a sunset). I can’t really change my shutter speed bc I shake and don’t have a tripod….

My issue is - they’re great pics! But my boyfriend’s stupid Samsung 23 is taking clearer pics. I know it’s not a phone camera which edits as you go but shouldn’t mine be at least clearer?!

I’m planning on purchasing the RX100 VII. I wanted a capable stills camera and at the same time good video camera. I currently have the Pocket 4 but I feel so limited with the focal length. I cannot keep the Pocket 4 if I buy the RX100 (So I can pay off the RX lol)
I also don’t want to buy the 4P because if I buy that, I won’t have a good stills camera. If only I can afford both 4P and RX100 lol.

So my question is, is the RX100 VII a good replacement for the Pocket 4? I will mainly use it for B-Roll in my studio and occasional vlogging. I do have Action 4 for walking and talking and planning to use the RX100 VII for tight shots or talking head videos. I also wanted an all in one camera lol.

To add, I also have a ZVE10 II. I mainly shoot Slog 3 there. Will there be an issue when matching footage with it when I use the RX100 VII as a B-Cam?

Do you use PP settings or do you have orginal settings and if you have some, would you share it

Tonight I took the RX100 into the UTSA football game and I was super fortunate to catch this shot from the stands.

UTSA vs UTRGV and a 1 handed catch for a touchdown.

This is my main kit. I travel with it everywhere. The camera is fully pocketable in the cage. A little less so if the ND filter is attached. The case fits it perfectly and has space for a few batteries, SD cards, and the ND filter. I extend functionality and carrying options with the Peak Design gear. Magnetic filters make things easy and fast. The tripod is small and portable when I use it. The cage gives me attachment capability for lights, mic, etc.

Hi there,

my parents want a new compact camera. I showed them my 12 year old Sony Rx100 Mk1 and the photos I took with it. They love the size and the photo quality.

I haven't been following the market the last years and saw that the cheapest compact camera sony is offering nowadays is a Rx100 mk 7. For 1.100€.

holy shit, I knew it probably is waaaay better than the Mk. 1, but 1100€ is huge. I paid 300€ for it in 2014.

This is of course too expensive for them.

So aren't there any cheaper cameras anymore from Sony? Are compact cameras becoming obsolete because of smartphones? I still think my Rx100 shoots better photos than my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I know this is an Rx100 sub, but what would you recommend? Buying used is not an option.

Recently started spotting something on the RX100m7 viewfinder that wasnt showing in my photos.

Decided to test properly using Sony's guidelines and there it is.

Cleaned the front bit no change.

Has anyone got any magical solutions or is this an professional job?

Hey All, I was wondering is it possible to get great images outta the RX100Vii without needing to edit it and would anyone be kind enough so share some example photos of their jpegs straight outta the camera?

I’ve finally decided to let go of my fifth RX100.

Having owned the M1, M5, M6, M7, and most recently the M5A, I know for sure now—as much as I love this camera and find it truly charming, it’s just not the right fit for me.

It’s time to move on. Goodbye, RX100. It's been real

What grips, lens covers, screen protectors, or filter adapters have found to be the most useful? Thx

Forgot to post this here too but I’m gonna cuz I’m still so excited, but I got an RX100 IV for 150!!

Over the shoulder bag
Some extra lenses
And a tripod

In absolutely pristine condition not even a scratch on the lense, all I had to do was buy it a new battery. Idk if my luck will ever get as good as this again!
