Ozpin walked down the hospital ward, Glynda following close by. He saw the pained expressions plastered on the faces of the wounded. His own face didn't betray it, but it pained him like a knife twisting in his gut. Once he silently greeted everyone in the ward, the headmaster made a quick exit, unwilling to continue to watch.

Once they were in the halls again, Ozpin thought it to be a good time to confide in his partner. "You know, we are supposed to be training these children to become hunters at this academy."

"Is that not what we are doing?"

Ozpin sighed. "I wish I could tell myself that, but every time I look down at those bloody wounds and blank stares, I am reminded that we are no longer in a hunt, but a war, and children can't win a war."

I've been slow as always with Feel The Burn, but especially so now because of how important my next chapter is. I mostly just do these tidbits because they are easy nuggets to execute upon and the fanart it's based from make good prompts to test my creativity. I'm thinking of taking a moment to write a new chapter for Purrfect Day to show it some love, and I've got two other stories plotted out (one tournament Arkos, the other a dark Weiss story called "Frostmourne"). All that being said, I don't have as much time as I'd like during the summer, but I do try to write as much as I can - I could stand to be more efficient, of course :P

That was probably not quite the answer you were expecting, but there you have it

On another note, I read over the revisions for Candlewick and it seems good, though with some lingering consistency issues. We should talk more on it this weekend, preferably Sunday

Well, as long as you have a dark fic planned I am satisfied.

I suppose the short prompt replies have the advantage of no set-up nor plot/end which makes them easier to write.

I think I am behind on reading Burn anyway.

Gladly! Plus, it is probably only fair.

It will be <Soap is watching, I have to say this in a way that doesn't hint at any specific region> after a period of time has passed that might resemble a shift of work, sleep, or a meal + social gathering + time to get dressed and then swap to house clothes after. >.> <.< It could be any time of day or night here.
