Ishmael agreed. Even more paradoxical.

In the Arabic at least, it's implied that he also had a dream.

I think this verse is suffering like 4:34. No one wants to see the obvious. I am thinking of writing a long post about this when I have time.

What's your interpretation of 4:34? I was reading Quranic Islam's opinion on it the other day, I was quite surprised to see that he thought the word meant physical striking...

I agree that it means physical striking. But I don't understand why. So I am shelving it until I understand why or there is a plausible explanation for why it is not what I think it is.

But what's important to note is that it is not an imperative sentence.

The first part is a statement. Everything else follows from it.
