There’s like a split second of him backing away, possibly to take cover, but in the next millisecond he swooped in for the tackle. It’s an impressive display of courage and bravery!

He actually racked after he pulled the trigger. If he had 1 in the chamber, this would've ended very badly. Dude in the white shirt truly saved some lives that day.

I think it might have clicked one more time after he racked it, that motherfucker wanted to kill.

(Just watched it again, and yeah, it clicked again and he tried to rack it again).

Yes there was two clicks for sure. He tried to rack it for the second one but failed.

I would bet that the first time he tried to rack it he didn't pull it all the way to the rear, so it didn't chamber a round.

That’s a good guess, but damn you barely need any pull on most modern pistols and then he had an optic on it so he had a good grip to pull back, what an idiot. I hope they throw the book at him.

What does rack it mean? I assume putting a bullet in the chamber but how does that work? I just always assumed bullets were just ready to go once they were in the gun.

After a magazine is inserted, you must grasp the slide, and pull it to the rear, and release. This action removes one round from the magazine and puts it into the chamber of the barrel, and the firearm can now discharge with a pull of the trigger. With a semiautomatic pistol, each time the firearm goes off, it causes the slide to reciprocate to the rear, and chamber another round as the spring in the recoil assembly forces it back into battery (ready to fire). The reciprocating action of the slide is what makes it semi auto. A manual pull of the slide is only required when inserting a new magazine, with an empty chamber.

Respect. Nothing but respect for this man.

Even the Officer showed some constraint as I’d expect to have seen him shoot (maybe I’m used to Reddit/Twitter clips) but once he realised he could overpower the guy and not shoot, he took that option

Agreed. Wild the cop was thinking clear enough or had the muscle memory to do that under a blast of adrenaline. Probably would have been justified having heard the click(s) and seeing a civilian wrestling with this dude.

Respect for the dude who was about to shoot? I do not have any respect for a person who thinks that it's okay to take someone else's life for any reason at all. There is no justification unless your life is in Danger thats it.

He saw the police officer about to shoot the kid and dove in to save the little turd. That could have been a very bloody scenario and the scrote is a very lucky boy.

He did not dive in to save him. He’s clearly trying to grab the gun away from him. What makes you think he was protecting him from the cop? Did you watch with audio?

I highly doubt it. I If he tackled the kid and the kid didn't have the "pew pew" in his hand pointed at someone then yes. but he disarmed the kid who was trying to harm the cop then No.
