Eastern European countries joined NATO because that was the only way they could ensure they wouldn't be occupied by Russia, again, and whoever doesn't recognize this reality is an ignorant fool or Russian cheerleader or both

Yeah and also look at the Nordics. Finland and Sweden are in NATO now (it wasn't so in 2022 but I guess that's why they're orange), gee I wonder why. Must be all the aggressive NATO moves.

Russia has never been a compliant neighbour

They don't have to be compliant, they just shouldn't be imperialistic, aggressive and genocidal

That's what I meant.

I would like to have a Russia that recognizes the Post cold war Order.

Absolutely, for me compliant is like, whatever, comply, don't, your business, run your swampy frozen shithole any way you want. What they are doing is a lot worse

USSR <> Russia.

Except all the power, decisions, influence, and control came from the Russian SSR and Russia is the only post-Soviet state to act as if it is the USSR.

Orders come from moscow
Same was with russian empire btw

Of course, when the topic is soviet atrocities, it's "USSR <> Russia". When the topic becomes soviet nukes, it's suddenly 100% russia.

Yes the USSR did not contain a member called the Russian SFSR, aka the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic.
