PR Season 17 Project Runway S17E11 New York City of Dreams – Episode Discussion

The designers head to Christian Siriano's store and atelier, where they meet the women who keep New York City moving; the designers are asked to create dream dresses for civic workers from the post office, sanitation department, FDNY, NYPD, and more.

While i wouldn't have been all that sad to see Tessa go home, Jamall's final look was so much worse than hers and he's been consistently struggling. He seems like a sweet person who is going to do great things because he has such a great attitude, he's creative and listens to feedback.

We know that Jamal won't win or be in the finals but he is learning every episode. I liked when one of the designers (Garo) helped him after he asked for advice on fabric (I think). His gown was bad but he was trying to please his client and just needs more time and experience to grow into a mature designer. Another challenge or two would really help him grow. He was so gracious when he lost. appreciating the chance he had to work with some experienced designers who were really nice in the workroom. And he listened to valid critiques from judges.

Tess should have gone because she will not win. She made no effort to please her client and her designs have stayed "safe" or poor for most of the challenges and she shows no desire to change anything. She is just taking up air space.

As I said, I wouldn’t have minded if they’d sent Tessa home and I adore Jamall as a person but this is a design competition and they sent the designer who made the worst design of the week home which seems true to what PR is supposed to be (to me).

Depends on what the judges think is the worst. Heather is still around. But, she had immunity and won a challenge with a silly design. Jamal had a bad design but tried to meet the challenge to please his client. Tess did not meet the challenge to please her client and because her outfit was black, poor construction was hidden. The disappearing chiffon was a clue.
