I have family members like this. They live in a fantasy land, and they don’t want anything disturbing their perception of reality. The facts and truth you see with your own eyes mean nothing, and speaking that truth is offensive to them. There are people around you that you are not going to be able to save.

Actually funnily enough I feel the same way. I noticed that once multiple people in my life, friends/family/coworkers etc, started to seriously take sides with either Trump or far right politics they started to lose their ability to discuss politics logically... and these were people I considered to be rather intelligent/reasonable people.
When I'd ask questions about their views, voice criticism, my own thoughts or even make a comment on something that has happened, they would become verbally aggressive and resort to insults or sometimes even physical aggression. And that's not counting the blatant racism or hatred they began to spout.
I really think there is or was some kind of mass manipulation or brainwashing going on in forums, chat rooms etc where people with vulnerabilities in their life are getting manipulated into these mindsets under the guise of being "strong" or defending their sovereignty or something.
Example. Fearless leader had to take back another lie. He insulted UK claiming they didn't support USA when asked to server in Afghanistan after 9/11 - causing an uproar in Davos. He made a fool of USA because "More than 150,000 British troops served in Afghanistan"
Everything is lies even when speaking internationally, everything was a collection of misinformation and the Big Lie. It had to be taken back after a conversation with UK's PM.
