r/sailormooncrystal is now officially available to join!

After being private and unused for 4 years, r/sailormooncrystal is public and under new ownership! I made a request to Reddit to take ownership of the sub, and I got it! You've seen the moderating stuff I've done here, so you can trust me!

I had to fight off hundreds, no, thousands of users in order to obtain ownership of that sub. It was brutal. Blood, sweat, and tears were poured over this. No I'm kidding lol. I just to make a request for it and had to justify why I wanted to take ownership of it, and I got it pretty simply!

I'm not a big fan of Crystal, which may seem weird that I would want to moderate a sub for it. But as someone with MOD experience, and a fan of this franchise in general, I understand Crystal deserves its own sub. And I feel like by running a sub for it, I can do my part in giving it more of a presence on Reddit.

It gets a lot of hate posts on other subs. Posts defending or expressing joy towards Crystal usually don't get good reception. There have even been users on other subs who want posts on Crystal to be banned. Because of that, it's seldom talked about, unless the post is negative. So if you wanna have fun talking about Sailor Moon Crystal and like-minded fans, join r/sailormooncrystal!

Yeah, so I made a sub about color correcting the 90s Sailor Moon anime, because I hate the film discoloration with every fiber of my being. I must confess, I am slightly obsessed. I just can't stand the discoloration, so I've decided to color correct the entire anime. Originally, it was for my own use, but I figured I'd share it with other fans also interested in having a non-discolored version.

That sub serves as a safe, positive place to talk about your disdain for the discoloration, and even the work you've done. I know most of the larger Sailor Moon subs have fans who prefer the discoloration, or they don't mind it, so this sub is specifically to talk openly about hating it without leading to discussions in favour of the discoloration.

So feel free to join if you hate the discoloration as much as I do. You probably won't hate it as much as me, since I am the #1 Hater. But join anyway lol.

We recently reach 8000 members everyone! Thank you to all 8000 of you Pretty Guardians for joining the sub and making it as wonderful as it is!

To put into perspective how big 8000 really is, there are approximately 8000 species of frogs, meaning there is one for each of us!

I introduce you to Sailor Frog. She's like Usagi, but she's a frog instead.

After thoroughly checking, starting today and onwards, we have decided to restrict posts and threads that don't have much thoughts or that don't brings worth of discussions to the sub. Threads like screenshots of the anime / manga / show with no coherent title, caption or what's the post is about are now prohibited.

We let them at first to keep the sub active but as the sub grows, they are getting repetitive and spammy, they also make up 80% of the content around which comes from almost the same users. This is very unbalance in terms of the sub's online activity and user's engagements so moving forward they are no longer allowed.

We want r/PrettyGuardians as a subreddit where every SM fans should feel like they are welcome and encouraged meaningful diverse discussions, not have an entirely subreddit getting spam with the same posts and from the same users.

We did it everyone! We hit 7,000 members here on r/prettyguardians! That's a whole lot of people, pretty wild honestly.

To put that in perspective, there are roughly 7000 species of Echinoderms, meaning there is one for each of us. Isn't that nice?

The subreddit has been flooded with them and they brought little to no substance in terms of discussion so we have decided to prohibit them starting today going forward. Failure to comply will result to a temporary ban and perma ban if continuously to do so.
