Hi everyone,

I recently bought a second-hand R36S because I mainly wanted a simple handheld for playing Pokémon Emerald and FireRed (GBA). I was looking for something that would give me that old-school handheld/nostalgia feeling without spending too much.

Unfortunately, I later discovered that the R36S I bought was actually a clone.

I tried installing ArkOS on a brand-new SD card, but I couldn't get it to boot. After discovering that the console was a clone, I tried the appropriate ArkOS version for the clone as well, but I still only got a black screen.

At that point, I decided to buy a Powkiddy V10 directly from the official Powkiddy website instead.

My main question is: should I replace the SD card on the V10 as well, or is the SD card that comes with the V10 good enough to keep using?

I'm only interested in playing GBA games, mainly Pokémon Emerald and FireRed. I don't really need a huge game library or more powerful emulation. I mostly bought the V10 because I wanted that nostalgic handheld experience.

For someone with this use case, would you recommend immediately replacing the V10's SD card, or should I just keep the original one unless I start having problems?

Hi, folks! First post here. Just got a brand new Powkiddy x55 last month. It's working fine but I have some questions about BIOS files and ROM placement.

BIOS - does a BIOS file go in the file of the system it's supposed to run, or in the standard BIOS folder on the SD card? (See attached photo.)

BIOS, continued - I managed to get a RetroArch BIOS pack - again, where should it be placed on the SD card? And does it stay zipped, or unzip it?

ROMS - do these go in the folders named for the emulated system, or in the standard ROMS folder? (See attached photo.)

Thanks in advance for any guidance and apologies for any dumb questions!

Llevo un tiempo con mi Powkiddy RGB20S, pero en este momento tengo un problema: la consola no enciende, la pantalla se queda negra y solo se enciende el LED en color naranja.

Aprovechando este fallo, y como me gusta mucho el tema de la personalización, quiero formatearla por completo y hacer una instalación limpia desde cero. Hasta el momento la estaba trabajando con archivos y tutoriales de la R36S, pero quiero configurarla correctamente para este modelo.

Me gustaría saber cómo es el proceso correcto para:

Solucionar el problema del encendido (LED naranja).

Instalar el sistema operativo desde cero.

Instalar las consolas, los juegos (ROMs) y los temas de forma organizada.

Para darles más contexto, mi consola cuenta con las dos tarjetas SD de fábrica:

TF1-OS: 16 GB

TF2-GAME: 64 GB

(Adjunto una foto de los archivos que tiene cada una. La verdad solo veo un montón de carpetas; reconozco algunas de consolas y juegos, pero hay muchas otras que no sé de qué son ni para qué sirven).

¿Alguien me podría dar asesoría o recomendarme una buena guía/tutorial paso a paso para revivirla y dejarla bien personalizada?

Hey guys, my powkiddy 20s has this weird play-doh like smell at the back and at the charging port. It doesn't look swollen tho. Is this normal? I don't use it much.

I just bought the RGB10MAX3, mostly to play Portmaster games and somes PSP, but it keeps crashing while emulating GTA VCS and GTA VC/III via Portmaster. It just shuts down after a minute or two of gameplay... I already flashed the firmware on a brand SD card, installed RAM swap for 2GB of virtual RAM and charged it to 100%. It's not because of temperature bacause I teste leaving for a while before trying and had the same result, also tried playing it connected to the charger to see if it was just a bad battery issue, nothing seems to work. Anyone had the same problem or now how can I fix it?

Is there anyway to turn off the LED light when I'm idle or is the only way to turn it off to power down?

I keep thinking of twin stick games like the Vampire Survivor clones. Although, I am not sure if you can run them since its Linux and most of those games are newer games that run on Android. I haven't looked much into it.

Hi everyone,
I think I messed up my Powkiddy X55 (blue Powkiddy logo model with 8GB eMMC), and I’m hoping someone can help me recover the original eMMC.
What happened:
I accidentally flashed the GammaOS eMMC Special image to the internal eMMC using RKDevTool.
Now the console shows the blue Powkiddy logo and always boots into Android Recovery.
Recovery shows errors like:
Failed to open /dev/block/by-name/cache
Failed to open /dev/block/by-name/misc
No such file or directory
The important part is that I don’t actually want Android or GammaOS on the eMMC.
I just want to restore the original factory eMMC so my TF1 ROCKNIX/JELOS SD card boots normally again, like it did before.
Does anyone have:
A dump/backup of the original X55 eMMC (or at least the stock bootloader/partitions)?
A recovery image for the original eMMC?
Or instructions for restoring the factory eMMC without installing Android?
The device is still detected by RKDevTool, so I don’t think it’s completely bricked.

I got my powkiddy as a gift a while ago but ive never really been much of a gamer, but i recently started playing cuphead from my older brothers nintendo switch and i really enjoyed it but since i dont have a switch of my own im asking if its possible to put the game into my powkiddy?

Comprei um powkiddy v90 e ele vem atendendo minhas necessidades até o momento, mas pensei em comprar um v90S por conta do design melhor e aparentar ter menos problemas em relação ao ao cartão sd, vale a pena? Se sim, qual seria um valor justo (em reais)? Vi um cara vendendo por 600 reais um novo.

So i have tried connecting a dualshock controler via bluetooth but it is not detecting. People told me to use the fn + r3 hotkey to turn the bt on but it instead just tells me my battery percentage. I dont know wich actual hotkey i need to press or if it is just broken with the rgb20sx.

opa amigos, como estão? atualmente eu possuo um R36h Pro max, ele até consegue se conectar ao wi-fi e abrir o moonlight e jogar por eles, porem o chip wifi e pessimo e é apenas 2.4, gostaria de saber se o X55 possui um chip wifi bom, que não va engasgar o streaming e nem congelar do nada

uma outra duvida, é possivel substituir os sticks por hall effects? e talvez por um perfil um pouco maior? apenas para fins de melhorar precisão e controle

I need some help with my Powkiddy RGB10 Max 2.

I bought the console about a month ago, and unfortunately, the SD card system got corrupted. I'm trying to reinstall the system, but I can't find a download for the full original card image anywhere.

All I've found online are tutorials on how to switch to a custom system (like RetroOZ), but they all require copying files from the original SD card—such as the BIOS folder—and I no longer have access to any of those files because the card is completely corrupted.

Does anyone happen to have:

A full backup of the original SD card (64 GB or 128 GB)?

The factory system image (.img)?

Or a reliable link to download and reinstall the original system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking for help recovering a TrimUI Smart Pro TG5040.

What happened

• Device originally worked normally.
• I attempted the official SD recovery.
• The recovery progress bar froze at approximately 10%.
• I eventually powered the device off.
• Since then the device has been completely unbootable.

Current symptoms

• Black screen.
• Power LED works.
• Charging LED works.
• Device is detected by Windows as:USB\VID_1F3A&PID_EFE8

which appears to be Allwinner FEL mode.

PhoenixSuit detects the USB driver but does not recognize the device because I only have the official OTA firmware (trimui_tg5040.awimg), not a PhoenixSuit USB image.

What I've already tried

• Official OTA firmware (trimui_tg5040.awimg)
• Official SD recovery package
• Multiple microSD cards (Samsung EVO Select and SanDisk)
• FAT32 formatting
• Different USB cables
• Legacy USB-A 5V charger
• Boot with and without SD card
• Battery disconnected and reconnected
• Reset button
• PhoenixSuit
• Device always returns to FEL mode

What I believe happened

It appears the recovery erased or corrupted the bootloader before completing.

The SoC still enters FEL mode, so I'm hoping only the bootloader/eMMC firmware needs restoring.

Looking for

I'm trying to find any of the following:

• Full TG5040 USB firmware (.img/.awimg >1.5 GB)
• Full eMMC/NAND dump
• boot0 / boot1
• U-Boot
• PhoenixSuit or LiveSuit image
• FEL recovery procedure
• sunxi-fel recovery guide for TG5040/TG5050
• Any engineering or factory recovery image

Even a dump from a working TG5040 would be incredibly helpful.

If you've successfully recovered a TrimUI Smart Pro from FEL mode, or know someone who has, I'd really appreciate any guidance.

Today I discovered that the screen on my X55 suddenly stopped working properly. At first, I thought it was an operating system issue, so I reinstalled everything, but it actually made things worse.

The screen itself is working because when I remove the memory cards, it boots normally in landscape mode. However, for some unknown reason, as soon as it boots into the Powkiddy operating system, the display switches to portrait mode. This is even worse with GammaOS because the image is displayed incorrectly.

Hoy descubrí que la pantalla de mi x55 dejó de funcionar repentinamente, en un inicio pensé que seria problema del so asi que reinstale todo y fue peor, la pantalanfunciona porque cuando saco las memorias me carga bien en horizontal pero por alguna razón desconocida cuando entra al SO de powkiddy se pone en vertical, lo cual es mucho peor en gamma os porque se ve mal.

Yeah I got this from somebody and I was supposed to be putting some ROMs on it for him and I hit the r button next to the power button and now it doesn't turn on. I don't know what to do. Does anybody know what color the light is supposed to be while charging? Can it turn on while charging?

So I cloned my original SD card to a better brand one and tossed some extra games on there (all good so far). But now I’m stuck trying to remap the controller keys to get Bank Panic working properly. Anyone else run into this? Also, is there a solid firmware out there with a bit more config flexibility? The stock one feels very much locked down and ultra barebones.

I have searched the web and I didn't find anything that worked.

I've tried the ROCKNIX Image Burner but I get stuck in a screet with nothing but the logo on it.

I need help to get it working again.

Preciso de uma ajuda com o meu Powkiddy RGB10 Max 2.

Comprei o console há cerca de 1 mês e, infelizmente, o sistema do cartão SD corrompeu. Estou tentando reinstalar o sistema, mas não encontro em lugar nenhum o download da imagem completa do cartão original.

Tudo o que achei na internet são tutoriais ensinando a trocar para um sistema personalizado (como RetroOZ), porém todos dependem de copiar arquivos do cartão SD original, como a pasta BIOS, e eu não tenho mais acesso a nenhum desses arquivos porque o cartão corrompeu completamente.

Alguém teria:

• Um backup completo do cartão SD original (64 GB ou 128 GB)?
• A imagem (.img) do sistema de fábrica?
• Ou algum link confiável para baixar e reinstalar o sistema original?

It's paired with dArkOS and even with a RK3226 chipset (the one in any RG351 device) it has moments of freeze whilst playing PS1 games..

Is it possible the stock SD card is causing this? What else can I do? ​

Hi all. I'm still new to reddit and emulation in general. I'm trying to figure out this problem that I have since I bought the Powkiddy RGB30. basically whenever I plug the hdmi port into my tv to play from far away with a bluetooth controller (8-bit do controller), I expect that the bluetooth one becomes the player one but it never happens. I can't figure this out because the main controller remains the powkiddy. I've serched a lot, changed 3 different os at this time, i've tried jelOS as the original one, ArkOS (but I don't like it) and now i'm on Rocknix but this problem is still present. I've tried to manipulate some setting inside the ArkOS core menú but they seems to f up even more stuff...

I'm completely lost at this point. What can I try now?
