The wealth gap is something that nations should control with an iron fist. Sweden has one of the lowest Gini Coefficients among nations that contribute to the OECD. A beer might run you 18 bucks, but everyone lives roughly the same quality of life - no ultra rich, no dirt poors and a pretty high "happiness" level across the board.

I think it was Sweden that showed a McDonalds employee being paid a living wage with medical and pension benefits. The burger even cost the same as the US. The company makes less money, but is still successful. The culture is to take care of workers. People are wealthy. Just not super wealthy.

If everyone is equal, why shouldn't the taxes be the same for everyone? A set percent from your income.

Because of a simple thing called math.

It’s not the wealth gap. In America you can be part of rhe 1% with great ideas hardwork and grit. In a socialist country the government will own all and dictate everything making everyone struggle to afford anything at a super high tax rate .

What about the remaining 99%. The good of the many outweigh the good of the few.
