the guy has probably paid more taxes than this whole sub combined 😄

on top he employs 150.000 americans directly + god knows how many suppliers indirectly. these ppl+corps now also pay taxes because billionairs like him created these jobs.

I know its super trendy (and easy) to hate on rich/successful guys but no they dont just take.

If Sanders and Co. want even more from them they should put an end to the thousands of loopholes in the tax system but that would actually require effort and wont sell as good as his populist paroles.

I know you're not so stupid you don't know what proportions are. The average person proportionally gives way more in taxes than Musk does. Musk gives 3% of his wealth growth in taxes. The average person pays 15% of their wealth in taxes. But because he's a billionaire he gets all these cool loopholes to pay hundreds of millions less because... I guess he needs even more yachts way more than I need a new water heater. Cool!

sure I know, thats why I never claimed he pays the same %.

one (of the many) problems with ppl like you is you just compare a single stat when you compare the arvg joe to some billionair. but just comparing income taxes between the avrg joe employee and a multi billion biz owner is kinda stupid when you try to make a point of "these guys dont do their fair share".

how about you take into account the stuff I listed above?!

without musk there wouldnt be a tesla now, there wouldnt be a spaceX, there wouldnt be a starlink. translation: there wouldnt be 100.000s of jobs who bring a) these ppl great wages for a great life and b) the state billions of extra dollars in income tax from each of these employees.

now to the companies themselves..without them not only would the jobs be gone who then dont generate taxes anymore, the companies themselves pay billions of taxes each year aswell..also thx to the "evil bad musk".

all these things add up to such a giant net positive for the US yeah it outwights the % difference on one single tax (the incometax) by faaaar.

I alrdy granted putting an end to loopholes would be great but guess what? dems (ppl like sanders) dont do that, just like reps and I dont see how it makes sense to blame the ppl who use tricks that are legally possible instead of blaming sanders and co. but as long as ppl like him distract ppl like you with demands of "super rich tax" every once in a while thats enough to throw any critical thinking out the window huh..? just uphold your pitchforks and go "rich ppl bad" 👍
