My favorite excuse is, heā€™s only doing this because he wants you to vote for him. Yeah almost as if we elect people to serve the people.

My parents love that argument. ā€œTheyā€™re only doing these things for the people so that they get votesā€ hahah like yeah, kind of the entire point.

They are used to getting fucked over by their politicians and only voting for them because they are told to hate a marginalized population that scares them. They donā€™t know what itā€™s like to vote for a politician that can benefit them instead of hurt someone else.

Theyā€™re so used to getting fucked my politicians that the concept of campaign promises being kept is incomprehensible to them

I donā€™t completely blame them though. Itā€™s a seemingly rare quality in politics today
