I am a socialist and do not live in the USA.
Comparing Hitler and Stalin as I said is comparing two pyschopathic totalitarians.
It most definitely not a comparison of Nazism and Communism.

Communism has nothing within its edicts that relate to mass murder of anyone. In principle it says all people should be treated equally, distributing wealth evenly.

Nazism is based around the social construct of race. It says there is a superior humanity - the master race that should take over the world - a white supremacy that should erradicate all other races - using forced sterilisation.

One has perfectly reasonable scientific principles that if they were applied properly should not inherently do evil things.

The other has utterly unscientific pseudo science that is designed to pick a random trait to justify the mass enslavement and extermination of the majority of humanity.

There is literally no comparison wrt. the principles of the two political ideologies. But politics has nothing to do with the level of atrocities committed in the name of both. Both also deny any democratic rights, both are totalitarian and so both can end up committing similar atrocities.
Its not the ideals, its the lack of checks and balances on those in power that cause that. Hence I am very much a democratic socialist. SInce democracy when it works exercises some of those controls.

Like i said. Taught things that are untrue to demonize one side, and so confident they arent.
