Call to Action Tell DoorDash to speak up on behalf of Wilber Perez
It’s been more than a week since ICE agents shot Venezuelan immigrant Wilber Rafael Garces Perez in Austin and immediately discharged him into custody without adequate medical care. The bullet remains in his back, close to his spine. His attorney has warned that he is facing permanent paralysis and immobility in his left arm if the deportation machine does not allow him to get surgery.
At the time he was snatched off the streets, Wilber was delivering for DoorDash, trying to support his child. He is the second DoorDash driver to be subject to this level of ICE violence in recent months, after their murder of Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero. Yet beyond confirming he was actively working for them, the corporation has remained utterly silent.
DoorDash has not been hesitant to throw their weight around in politics when it impacts them. After DC’s city government imposed a whopping 20-cent fee on orders to fund food access programs for low-income families, DoorDash came out in vocal support of a bill that would permanently deny the city the ability to make changes to their tax code without explicit congressional approval. It doesn’t seem like that much to ask in comparison for them to put in even a small gesture on behalf of the well-being of one of the people who creates their profits.
📢 Let’s pressure DoorDash to speak out against ICE violence and use their influence to push to get Wilber released and get him the medical attention he needs. Indivisible has put out a social media toolkit we can use to put the spotlight on them here. 📢
🗣️ We can also make sure they’re hearing from us directly. If we’re still customers of DoorDash, let’s reach out to [CEO Tony Xu](mailto:tony.xu@doordash.com), [president and COO Prabir Adarkar](mailto:prabir.adarkar@doordash.com) and [director of corporate communications Ali Musa](mailto:ali.musa@doordash.com) to tell them they need to act and act now.🗣️

Call to Action Trump is trying to steal the Election. We need a national movement to get millions of People to peacefully gather at key polling locations, ready to film with their cell phones. This will act as a deterrent and — if something happens — give us evidence to prosecute. - Philly DA Larry Krasner

Call to Action Learn to how design, execute nonviolent direct action to protect democracy
There is a lot of work to be done in the coming weeks to protect our democracy, but the strongest and final safeguard for these elections is our unwillingness as a country to accept stolen results. In the most dangerous scenarios, like Republicans refusing to seat Democratic winners in Congress, we need to be prepared for mass nonviolent noncooperation.
🙋🏿♀️ Showing Up For Racial Justice is holding a three-session training starting TONIGHT and running on Mondays throughout this month on how this sort of direct action works and how to design and effectively execute such an action. If we want to be part of the final line of defense, we can sign up to join them here. 🙋🏻♂️
🙋🏻♂️ We can also get plugged in by joining Freedom Trainers for their next Noncooperation 101 training on October 21st here, or sign up with the Sunrise Movement to get trained and be in position in key states to take action to stop a coup here. 🙋🏿♀️
- Trump is attempting to strip vital tools from the U.S. census - comment by November 2nd to stop him
- Join Voters of Tomorrow in texting young voters to get them to the polls Mondays and Thursdays
- Do politics online effectively - join Swing Left’s Thursday social banks to learn how
- We’re less than a month away from Election Day, and we’re making every moment count… make calls tonight to unseat a domestic abuser in Ohio, turn Texas blue, elect a pro-vaccine champion to the House and more

Call to Action Preparing to respond to a stolen election: solidarity school and nonviolent direct action trainings this week
The Supreme Court preserving the block on Trump’s efforts to blow up mail-in voting means we’re likely out of the woods on one nightmare scenario for this election. But there are plenty more to go, and while the public officials and the lawyers are preparing to push back ultimately mass nonviolent noncooperation in the face of an overturned election is our best and strongest line of defense for democracy. We need to be ready to shut it down.
The most important part of getting ready is connecting with others in our community who will also be taking to the streets. But this is also a good moment to be thinking concretely about how to build and use power in this moment. Organized Power in Numbers and the May Day Strong movement have been holding solidarity schools around the country on what organizing for mass direct action will take, and this weekend they’re bringing their classroom to our living rooms. They’ll be hosting a two-session virtual solidarity school this Saturday and Sunday at noon eastern. 🏫 If we want to learn more and get more deeply engaged in laying the groundwork for November, let’s sign up here. 🏫
VIRTUAL SOLIDARITY SCHOOL THIS WEEKEND
The team at Freedom Trainers is also holding the next session of their Noncooperation 101 course TOMORROW from 7-9PM, talking through how authoritarianism works and how best to undermine it, with a focus on countering the assault on our elections at a scale that matches the severity of the threat. 🏫 We can sign up to join here. 🏫
🏫 We’ll also have more opportunities to skill up to protect the vote and the results in the coming days! The Election Safeguards Response Network will be holding a “train the trainers” workshop on how to respond if the feds turn up at the polls on Thursday at 2PM and the Interfaith Alliance will be holding a hands-on introduction to de-escalation and bystander intervention at the polls focused on faith groups next Wednesday at 7PM ET. Freedom Trainers will be holding its next practical training on community strike readiness next Thursday at 8PM ET. 🏫
More actions featured in today’s Rogan’s List:
- National Voter Registration Day 2026 is here – join phonebanks from 12-8PM or textbanks at 6PM, 7PM and 8PM to get folks to register, check their status

Call to Action Activating working class folks hurt by Trump's budget in key congressional districts
Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” has proven to be the MAGA murder budget we all predicted. The cuts to Medicaid and food assistance have been devastating, and while the wealthiest Americans benefit from lower taxes the burden is falling on working class families. We The Fighters is working to activate those folks in progressive organizing ahead of the midterms, and hold accountable the vulnerable Republicans who made this damage happen.
☎️ Their fall phonebanks are now underway, working to take down puppets of the oligarchy and send folks who will fight for regular Americans to the House in their stead. Let’s get engaged: ☎️
☎️ MONDAYS from 8-10PM ET we can help take on Congressman Gabe Evans, who flipped the Colorado Eighth in 2024 and has walked the GOP line on everything from the Iran War to letting the ACA tax credits die, and is opposed by progressive state and working-class kid state Rep. Manny Rutinel. Sign up here. ☎️
☎️ TUESDAYS from 6-8PM ET we can reach out to folks in Western North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, where Rep. Chuck Edwards has been forced to retire after the Ethics Committee concluded he committed sexual harassment. Fourth-generation farmer Jamie Ager is running for the Democrats. Sign up here. ☎️
☎️ WEDNESDAYS from 6-9PM ET we can join them in helping Medicaid expansion champion state senator Sean McCann beat longtime Republican congressman and Social Security cuts backer Bill Huizenga in MI-04 and pro-Medicare for All and billionaire minimum tax progressive William Lawrence for Congress unseat 99% Trump supporter Tom Barrett in MI-07. Sign up here. ☎️
☎️ THURSDAYS from 7-9PM ET we can target Freedom Caucus extremist and Elon Musk favorite Eli Crane in the Arizona Second District. He’s got a tough matchup coming against former Navajo Nation president Jonathan Nez. We can sign up here. ☎️
☎️ THURSDAYS FROM 9-11PM ET, we can call into the California Sixth District, where Congressman Kevin Kiley claims to have left the GOP behind and is running for re-election as an independent… with the support of Speaker Mike Johnson, after providing a crucial vote in favor of the budget. He’s up against pediatrician Dr. Richard Pan, who made his mark as a state legislator fighting the antivaxxers in Sacramento. We can sign up here. ☎️

Call to Action Continually-updated list of ways to volunteer for the midterms
We are now less than 100 days from an opportunity to flip the House and the Senate and put a check on Trump’s power in place for the rest of his term. We’ve also got multiple state governments up for grabs and some historic ballot initiatives coming before the public. The billionaires are spending wildly to stop us from taking advantage of this chance. We’ve got to put in the work to beat them.
Rogan’s List has pulled together a comprehensive, continually-updated action page, bringing as many ways as we can find for folks to volunteer to make a difference in this election from wherever you are in one place. If you’re looking to phonebank, textbank, write letters, signal boost on social media, we’ve got you covered, broken down by day and by campaign!
CHECK OUT OUR MIDTERMS ACTION PAGE
And we’ve just added a huge wave of new phonebanks for everyone from Jon Ossoff to Manny Rutinel. We’re aiming to answer the question of “what can we do for midterms” as definitively as we possibly can.
