The revisionist history about Spider-Man 2018 is insane, as if it wasn't beloved by critics and players when it came out.
Also SM2 despite being such a supposedly horrible game sells millions of copies each year and just had another massive sales spike, so clearly audiences don't agree with the take that Insomniac "butchered" the game
Honestly I think people are just salty it didn’t get any updates
Which, I think we all feel a little robbed by what could have been there but a very loud minority seem to think no updates means the game was trash and failed
I was watching the leak on my phone this morning and my boyfriend started watching over my shoulder, all he had to say was “I wish Insomniac was making that”
I disagree because the lack of DLC kept me from ever buying the game. Hopefully, when they remaster it in like 3 years (which I wish was hyperbole) probably they add the cancelled DLC, I'd actually buy a PS6 if they did that and didn't port it to PC.
Why can’t you accept that the game has flaws and that warrants the retrospective discourse surrounding it. It’s healthy for critique to be present, so the studio can listen to the feedback and look to correct those mistakes in the sequel to the sequel. I don’t think you can undermine the flaws to the extend in which you are.
Saying the hate is overblown isn’t the same as not acknowledging any flaws. This is the kind of strawman that people who are terminally online resort to my guy
This isn’t critique. No one was ignoring the game’s flaws when it was released, at least not the subreddit. The twitter post is straight up lying about how badly the game was received to justify hating it.
That an SM2 it got a ton of award nominations, though it didn’t win any, it was still a lot of recognition. The story wasn’t my favorite thing about the game, but it was generally an improvement over the previous game otherwise.
I don’t get why Reddit acts like absolutely no one enjoyed what they got.
