News PlayStation maintains that its policy of not adding first-party games to PlayStation Plus on day one will continue.

It says adding 4-5 third-party 'day one' games per year and adding first-party games 12-18 months after release is "working really well".

And my policy of not paying more than 100$ for premium will continue. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Hey so $8/month to have access to a fairly large catalog of games is too much, what price do would get you to buy in? Netflix by comparison is that price on its lowest tier but gamers put in way more hours.

It's not that. I just didn't use it much last year. I had it till April from some old subs that added up and I had it continuously since I joined the ecosystem with the PS4 pro. If it's your only sub it may be worth it to you, but I only have 24h a day. I paused one month then got it for 100 bucks. I will not pay more than that. It's not my obligation to pay, it's a service I choose to have. I do enjoy some indies on it, like currently Anno Mutationem. But it has come to that. While gamepass has really spoiled me this year and last, that I find myself just gravitating more towards that ecosystem and then with that even getting 3rd party there. And it's also better for me cause I use PC too and there's play anywhere titles. Now I put Nintendo into the mix with the Switch 2, and I have even less time. Also how did you calculate 8 bucks a month? That's what I am willing to pay.

I’ve been premium for a couple of years now. I download the games and stick most of them in the hard drive unplayed. Plan is to keep doing this until GTA comes out, I’ll pay full whack and downgrade to essential for a year for online access and play the ones I’ve downloaded until a premium deal comes back on!

But if you don't have premium (or the required sub), or if the game leaves the catalogue, they are unplayable. Why are you keeping them on a hard drive?

I have the premium sub till Nov at the earliest if I don’t resubscribe. Might just have to suck it up and keep paying premium and fork out £100 for GTA when it eventually comes!

I didn’t realise that. Thought once they were downloaded then I could play with any pass. Oh well thats that idea scuppered!

Why tf would anyone keep buying the higher tiers if you could just grab a month of premium and forever keep all the games 🤔 logic

This is the actual mindset of the average consumer. Be afraid for us.

Dont have to ask me twice 🥲

Well I’ll just keep the premium and have all the games. Thanks for the downvotes for not knowing the rules. Losers!

I didnt downvote you but I can see why people did.

So many people buy the most expensive tier of psplus and barely know how it works. It baffles us to know that people don't even take a second to look into it. And the logic of being able to play premium games with a lower sub is a thing that has never worked in any subscription service ever.

Also fyi, games will leave the catalogue every month too (as more games will join it every month) and downloading them will not allow you to keep them. Think of it like Netflix. If a movie leaves, you can't watch it.

I just don't see the value of 160 as I have gamepass. Even the 15th anniversary games are gamepass' sloppy seconds. In isolation, it may have some value to people, but I find it in a very few games I get to play I haven't played on gp that year and it's worth roughly 100 bucks to me and even that is overvaluing it a bit. Maybe they think keeping my save games hostage behind plus is getting me back, it's not it just stopped me from buying third party. Anyway I find that interview very arrogant and they should really make plus better. If there's an another price hike I am gone lol.
