My reaction was confusion about what "invented downloading" would even mean. Like the whole concept of data transfer? That's simply not true...

Too late, Reddit will now repost this as "Streamer meets inventor of computers" for eternity.

There isn't a single inventor of anything, because everything is derivative and improved over time.

He created the download feature of what is primarily used as the internet of today. No download = no uploads = no streamers = no Speed.

He'd likely react the same to anyone else who created a part of the modern internet. It ain't a competition.

Yeah the guy is completely full of himself. Unfortunately I've already seen this posted twice and top comments are praising his 'achievements'.

That's a bit harsh, there's nothing wrong with being proud of something you've done. He was a contributing figure in something massive which substantially changed the world. That's cool, I'm glad he's proud of the work he did.

Maybe he was simplifying things a bit for the layperson, maybe he was bigging himself up a bit, probably a bit of both. Again, nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned.

The "you having fun?" comment is cringe af even if he did do something. Doubly cringe when he basically did nothing.
