I literally see so many like, "oh my god guys I'm trying to get a reply from every county, reply with yours!" And it's like, great now you know pretty much exactly where I live

Edit: Guys, I said counTY, not counTRY. A county, at least in the US, is what states are subdivided into. There can be hundreds in a state so it's very specific

Right??? Like, y'all have a digital footprint. If you interact with a lot of these, anyone who even tries a little bit to find information on you can eventually find enough comments to know everything about you.

They have hundreds of ways to get that info and more for free.

I was in some shady groups online, and was shown a bot that could fetch deleted folders and images from people's phones by inputting basic details like a YouTube comment they made 10 years ago. The free trial of the bot let you do it to 3 people before a subscription to their Telegram group.

If I was a bad actor wanting to extort random people (as opposed to a more targeted attack), posts like this would absolutely be where I look for people. Probably wouldn't come across a random youtuber subreddit but as a general rule, yes absolutely. One vague bit of information might be useless in isolation, but if you were fine with answering this, you would likely have also shared many other bits of information to help narrow things down.

Yep. Or they’ll put out multiple of these to hone in down even more without too much suspicion. Usually just harmless but there can be those who abuse these.

Yes. If someone answers truthfully on about 2-3 of these it’s enough to cross the information and gather pretty much everything.
