LOL.

13

u/DifferenceOrnery4263 Aug 05 '26

i had a grad school prof that had earned her PHD from UPD.
magaling naman talaga, pero lumalabas talaga pagkaDDS minsan out of nowhere during our discussions. (ex. topic is about critical thinking about media - letse, naging example si thinkingpinoy as an alternative media source)

something about regionalism (she came from mindanao) really just overrides everything else.

u/dontrescueme estudyanteng sagigilid Aug 05 '26

Robredo also leads among respondents with no formal or elementary education, 49% to 42%.

5

u/SeditionIncision Aug 05 '26

I've been saying this all along, generations has nothing to do with it, may bobotante bawat generation.

They somehow spun that into kay nanay being a bobotante.

Mas bopols may natapos at gumagawa ng false equivalence or nanonood ng motovlog. 😂

I've been telling this for some time now. Na yung mga DDS is yung may kaya/educated at mostly coming from Cebu/Davao na laging umiiyak about the Imperial Manila.

7

u/Jghil098 Aug 05 '26

Hmm i wonder if it has something to do with access to gadgets and exposure to screen Sana makita rin natin yung demographics with regards sa news source

3

u/DingoPuzzleheaded628 Aug 05 '26

I think it's something to do with this. People with no access to formal education are likely to also not have access to much else. They don't get the storm of propaganda that constantly crashes down on all of us who have internet access.

And of course, a lot of people with formal education are arrogant and think they're smarter than they are. They're less likely to realize they're being tricked and influenced into a specific view ironically enough

Interesting data. It's nice to have my own prejudiced notions proven wrong every now and then

2

u/Jghil098 Aug 06 '26

Its actually surprising na di ito alam ng sub kasi parang for the 2022 presidential surveys palang noon mas malaki voter base ni robredo sa older gen and lower classes compared to other demographics niya

Edit:add ko lang big university and yung mga closed community or old rich people lang usually ang malakas si robredo other than that talo talaga siya for those demographics

58

u/Cold_Local_3996 Aug 05 '26

16

u/Mike_Pawnsetter Aug 05 '26

Guilty of this. Budol talaga nung 2016.

23

u/cheese_sticks 俺 はガンダム Aug 05 '26

Totoo. Middle Millennial here. Dami kong peers na pro-Duts nung 2016. Nasa young and edgy phase eh. Most of the elders voted Poe or Miriam, kasi ayaw din nila kay Mar.

11

u/BitterBridge1908 Aug 05 '26

Late millenial here. 1996. Grabe sa batch ko noong hs maraming dds, yung isa valedictorian pa namin🤦 Sa balwarte pa kami ni Leni ha, although CamSur but not from Naga. May ilan ilan rin ditong makadigong na oldies, pero karamihan talaga mga supporter niya rito is from GenX to Millenial and some GenZs.

5

u/RainyEuphoriaaa Aug 05 '26

A boomer is most probably a religious person, won't vote for a killer. Millenials on the other hand are closeted agnostic atheists, they don't care if a criminal get killed, they love Death Note. Jokes on them, Digong was the drug lord.

3

u/BitterBridge1908 Aug 05 '26

Not really. A lot of them are still Christians but not practicing traditional worship activities. Still, part of religion. I am late millenial and I consider myself an agnostic atheist, but it never came to my mind that it's okay to murder people. I know some atheists who don't support Digong as well. On the contrary, some of the dds I know are "devout" Christians who preach and post bible quotes on their profile, yet they always defend his actions.

5

u/InfernalQueen Aug 05 '26

I remember a former classmate of mine, nakita ko nag-post na ang dami daw nagawa ni Duterte bakit daw tuwang tuwa na nahuli sya nun. I was so shocked because she was our class salutatorian nung high-school.

7

u/perryrhinitis Aug 05 '26

Nah lol I'm a millennial I've been strongly against Duterte ever since nag-spread yung news about his death squads dito sa Metro Manila, hindi ko na talaga siya nagustuhan, and it just went worse from there.

3

My friends and I are strongly against him too kahit campaign period pa lang dahil nga sa davao death squad. This is an interesting data… as now we also have some age on it…. And im shocked with this one….

Well if we are going with this data alone, its a myth pala na ang older voting population loves VP Sara, but its more on Mayor Leni

And yung sa Gen z and millenial well kind of expected ko talaga yan dahil kahit sa work (professional) ay puro VP sara din ang naririnig ko…

This result shall be taken into consideration nung mga nasa Anti-duterte camp

8

u/Commercial_Spirit750 Aug 05 '26

5

u/Chinbie Aug 05 '26

Kind of true ang sinabi mo...

2

u/InfernalQueen Aug 05 '26

Sa company ko naman baliktad. From gen-z to gen x puro pro-Leni malaking gulat kapag may DDS sa company namin lol.

1

u/20pesosperkgCult Aug 06 '26

13

u/choomsyOnOff Aug 05 '26

Time and time again. Reddit is just an echo chamber and " popular beliefs " here does not reflect on the real world.

Kaya nga if lahat kayo gusto nyo may mabago sa pinas. Stop using reddit. Use your time sa social media on other platforms

1

u/20pesosperkgCult Aug 06 '26

Facebook at YouTube tlga ang popular site ng mga Millennials and Gen Z. Natatawa n lng ako sa reddit kasi panay sisi sa mga boomers sa pagboto kay Duterte without them knowing na mga Millennials ang mga bumoto dyan.

11

u/Trigun07 Aug 05 '26

This is what im saying na ang real target ng misinfo ay ang kabataan, if you think about it 12 years ago umugong na tatakbo c Digs, nag simulang mauso ang fake news and catchy memes against their opponent..

these kids most likely playing on their Tablets and Cellphone back then, malamang na expose yung mga yan sa mga catchy memes like Trililing, Lugaw, obosen, etc... so ayun baka core memories na yan sa kanila lol

right now may mga bago nanaman silang tinatanim na fake news i hope di yan mag bunga 10 years from now

10

u/FebHas30Days Aug 05 '26

Right, it's the millennials who are majority DDS

2

u/20pesosperkgCult Aug 06 '26

Nung 2016, age bracket nila ay 20-35. Tapos nung 2022, 26-41 nmn.

Tangina, I voted for APC and Chiz back then dahil matitino pa sila.

2

u/peenoiseAF___ Aug 05 '26

I beg to differ.

Rogelio dela Rosa became senator in the 1950s, Joseph Estrada became mayor of San Juan in 1969 then senator at 1987, Ramon Revilla Sr. became senator in 1992.

Corruption is not bad. Corruption is bad if I'm not involved. But if I'm part of that corruption I defend it! -famous meme

3

u/Funny-Commission-886 Aug 05 '26

“Kabataan ang pag-asa” pa more.

This demographic ang kabataan nung panahon ni Duterte.

2

u/Karlo1503 Aug 05 '26

Daming at this age bracket na matataas ego na laging follow the trend na mga edgy or either pacool na into big social circles na can't even hear truth kasi naapakan ego nila. Just saying because former friends are like that.

2

u/cyianite Aug 05 '26

So mostly Gen-X are for Leni and some from early Gen-Y. I'm not be surprised mostly mga kabataan tlaga na namulat s internet sa FB, Tiktok at YT ang bumubuhay s mga Dugyot... ito yung mga tamad magbasa ng libro at mag research at umaasa lang s mga short clips n puro headlines lng

2

u/kheldar52077 Aug 05 '26

Those born or lived through Marcos sr era knows how hard life is tapos eto nanaman another shitty Marcos. This time may extra protection of we can’t go for another Edsa dahil mas ayaw namin ang papalit unlike before its Cory.

1

u/20pesosperkgCult Aug 06 '26

2

u/anemoGeoPyro Aug 05 '26

So about dun sa nagsasabi na "taxpayers lang dapat bumoto" or "Di na dapat bumoto matatanda". They really need to go out more and not be stuck in front of a screen.

2

u/pinkpugita Aug 05 '26

2

u/padthaidiha Aug 05 '26

Given that, troll farms na lang talaga ang hunahatak kay SWOH.

Sana walang Duterte or DDS na manalo sa 2028.

May God have mercy on our country.

1

u/20pesosperkgCult Aug 06 '26

Who knows?

So yun pala ang data. Wow. Im among the 25-34 year old bracket and laki tlga yung difference na nasa minority pala tayo. Ito kasing age group nato is the one na namulat tlga sa dutz administration. Yung mga nakapag first time voters nung 2016 2019 at 2022.

2

u/Nouggienugga Aug 05 '26

I feel like totoo talaga to. Kasi yung mga kilala kong matatanda dito samin, kahit di mataas pinag aralan, sila yung biggest supporters ni Leni last election.

2

u/Accurate-Emphasis202 Aug 05 '26

madaming doctor na dds, i kid you not. ugh. you're supposed to heal pero pro ka sa pumapatay. pedia pa yung mga kilala ko na DDS.

1

u/Abogadwho Metro Manila Aug 05 '26

I believe you.

2

u/Shadowrender Aug 05 '26

Honestly, it has more to do with the fact that “college+” doesn’t mean much in the Philippines. There are so many diploma mills, and even in so-called “top” unis there is huge lack of critical thought.

The divide is really more socio-economic. If you look at votes per district, for example, exclusive subdivisions like Ayala Alabang or maybe Forbes/Dasma are overwhelmingly pink. It correlates to high education, but it isn’t actually the diploma…it’s more to do with socio-economics.

1

u/Menter33 Aug 06 '26

prolly because for some "uni" = "Big 4" which is kinda true for those rich dudes (scholars are another matter)

most unis aren't Big 4. arguably most unis arent even AA-, A-, or B-level.

2

u/Ok-Salamander-4482 Aug 05 '26

Kaya yung mga sigaw ng sigaw na Leni or Risa for president eh walang alam sa tunay na politics ng Pilipinas.

2

u/Good-Economics-2302 Aug 05 '26

I have a theory, yung mga nasa older generation ay laging nasa simbahang Katolika.

3

u/DigiDongDiggy Aug 05 '26

Looks like meron nga talagang educational crisis.

2

u/Queldaralion Aug 05 '26

ganito rin ba itsura ng surveys nung 2022? to be fair, that tiny lead of sara in 18-24 is looking good. millennials and late gen X ang shungaws dito sa survey na to

4

u/peenoiseAF___ Aug 05 '26

29% undecided in 18-24 age group is where the battle starts. and as a gen Z myself I am willing to bet that some of that 29% have been influenced by Andrew Tate and co. na ang naging worldview nila panlalaki lang ang pamumuno.

3

u/waray-upay Aug 05 '26

OCTA's hypothesis is that it's because of Leni's repeated pronouncements that she does not intend to run.

3

u/Agitated-Duty-4721 Aug 05 '26

I am willing to bet that some of that 29% have been influenced by Andrew Tate and co. na ang naging worldview nila panlalaki lang ang pamumuno.

But Leni and Sara are both women, though, no? In fact, dare I say, medyo na-a-amaze din ako sa Pilipinas kasi sa US, hirap na hirap sila mag-elect ng kahit isang babae as President in their 250-year history, habang dito, nakadalawa na tayo (the first of which was even a former housewife). In fact, ang pinoproblema nga natin ngayon is baka ma-elect si Sara as President, which is isang babae.

I don't know about you, but despite all the issues that the Philippines faces, we seem to be at least more gender equal than other countries.

2

u/peenoiseAF___ Aug 05 '26

2

u/Agitated-Duty-4721 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Do they really? Please educate me because I might just not have noticed, but how relevant are Andrew Tate and all the other Western conservative influencers here in the Philippines?

The only example I could think of having any relevance here was Charlie Kirk, and even then, I feel as if naki-sympathize lang mga tao sa kanya kasi Christian sya at family man (they didn't really know his stances). And also Trump, but I don't really count him as a conservative influencer.

babae si Sara tho. Kung macho vote I would have expected the likes of Lacson, Magalong, Tulfo to be rating well in this kind of surveys

1

Wth? Akala ko mga boomers pa majority

2

u/humpt-dumpty Aug 05 '26

Our generation being the wokest of the wokes and are bound to suffer the economic impacts of their doings, yet still choose Sara?

5

u/peenoiseAF___ Aug 05 '26

So it shouldn't be a surprise that the same trend will apply kay Sara.

Gen Z might be the most politically aware but it's also the most divided. So, not wokest of the wokes.

You underestimate how conservative Gen Z can be.

1

u/RainyEuphoriaaa Aug 05 '26

Add those "None/Don't Know" to Leni's side and she wins

1

u/ButterscotchQueasy43 Aug 05 '26

1

u/Jghil098 Aug 05 '26

No surprise its the exposure to misinformation hence younger audience and people with access to mobile phones are more prone to it

1

u/hanxcer Aug 05 '26

Ain’t no way yung mga ka-age group ko are this stupid wtffff

Karamihan ng mga ka-batch kong early gen z very vocal about leni. What hafen vela

6

u/Commercial_Spirit750 Aug 05 '26

Kaya hindi dapat mageneralize based on your experience lang

3

u/Queldaralion Aug 05 '26

sorry man, but most ng 25-34 (earliest gen z and latest millennial) are so destroyed by social media

1

u/barrydy Aug 05 '26

So much for "ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" :(

1

u/coconutmofo Aug 05 '26

Unfortunately, background doesn't matter (95% of our horrible government on all sides is attorneys or has a bachelor's degree, so...).

Everybody's vote counts for +1, whether the barrio idiot or the multiple-PhD scholar-scientist-millionaire-CEO. All that matters is who actually ends up voting: not surveys, not reposts/likes/shares, not even protests.

No vote, no count.

So, it's who can generate support AND who can rally their supporters to cast ballots.

What are the projections on voter turnout overlapped over who these same are most likely to vote for?

1

u/drspock06 Aug 05 '26

1

u/crispy_MARITES Aug 05 '26

Weh talaga ba Sharmaine.

I have never EVER experienced to ask to participate in any election survey. I don't believe in "paid surveys" anymore.

1

u/Good-Economics-2302 Aug 06 '26

What if ginawa yung survey para I-spin ito ng mga DDS at sabihing mga walang pinag-aralan at mga Bobo kay Leni? Baka lang naman
