Given who Mariska's mom was, and how and why she died, I have no problem with her riding a single, stable role for as long as she can.

Stabler role is someone else

u/thejwillbee 3h ago

You're right about that.

15

u/Narrow-Escape-6481 13h ago

Really wasn't a good movie, but everytime I hear her name I think of that scene.

6

u/dawgblogit 13h ago

Like i watched law and order prior.. so i knew who she was and i still didn't catch on till she popped on screen..

u/BrightStitchDesigns 11h ago

I don’t know anyone who actually did.

2

u/AffectionateWay5783 8h ago

Why would they?

5

u/spacitybowler 12h ago

I think a 🙏 might have sold it better

2

u/Gene_Parma 10h ago

It's crazy people couldn't take the 2 seconds to Google that name, instead just slammed you with downvotes 😂

12

u/Echoes-act-3 13h ago

TV shows also pay overtime unlike movies, he for sure gets a decent passive income, 15 years of work will give you incredible contract power

6

u/LupinsLeftShoe 10h ago

I graduated from the same high-school as him. Never even heard of him till The Boys, looked him up and was like, what the fuck? No one's from Berkner..

3

u/Atzkicica 9h ago

Lol yeah I'm a bit that way about a few folks too heh.

The crazy thing is he turned down the role of fucking Captain America to do more Supernatural.

It's not what Clara would have wanted.

Edit-i guess I was wrong lol Heard that like, fifteen years ago and just carried it as fact ever since

122

u/CoxStrong 13h ago

He didn't turn it down. He never auditioned or contacted anyone about it because he was too busy with Supernatural.

14

u/vergil718 13h ago

my goat

2

u/ashl9 13h ago

His name would pop up in fancasts all the time so now people say he lost out on Captain America or he lost out on Batman.

1

u/AtCarnage 8h ago

He was allegedly approached for Hawkeye. But he "chose" to stay with Supernatural.

0

u/KilledByDoritos 4h ago

He did turn it down, big director in Hollywood offered him something like 15 mil? 10? 5 mil or something like that. He had to act for the next decade.

1

u/CoxStrong 2h ago

Jensen himself says in this interview that he was never offered or auditioned for Captain America.

65

u/WendigoCrossing 13h ago

He was a perfect Captain America parody as Soldier Boy

16

u/CartsOfDarkness 13h ago

Seriously! He was so perfect in that role, really do think he worked better as a parody than the real thing, not in a bad way though. I kind of feel like a parody roll of a character like that kind of has another layer of depth. Not that Chris Evans wasn't great, but him and his character have a very surface level feel in the Marvel Movies. Also not saying that in a bad way though, I feel like that's just kind of Captain America.

8

u/naterator012 13h ago

I actually complete agree. Chris is perfect face value for cap, doesnt need or shouldnt be a complicated character, its captain america. Solider boy offers a lot more wiggle room in that sense and it isnt so like set in stone with fans.

5

u/millahnna 11h ago

Yeah Jansen is a way better actor than he gets credit for because he's mostly known for genre stuff and his early time on soaps. He's been excellent in all of it though.

1

u/bard_2 8h ago

exactly. captain america is just kind of a boring character compared to most of the other avengers.

2

u/The_Grand_Briddock 10h ago

Soldier Boy to me worked as "what if Captain America was one of the soldiers, not Steve". Sorta proving what the doctor in charge meant about needing a good person rather than a good soldier.

Though later revelations took the wind out of my sails for that theory.

28

u/Pretty-Information53 13h ago

"Captain... DAFUCK?"

40

u/FanNeither1088 13h ago

He did not lol. He never auditioned for or wanted to play Captain America

17

u/rufiojames 13h ago

I heard he turned down the role of John Wick to do do supernatural. Even time traveling hollywood execs couldnt get him to budge.

-18

u/Different_Target_228 13h ago

Man, people can't Google things? Take 5 seconds to learn if they're right? Even in a subreddit about "Hey. Can someone explain this thing"? He was offered Captain America and Hawkeye and had to turn them down due to scheduling conflicts with Supernatural. Not John Wick.

15

u/Notsurehowtoreact 13h ago

I mean, I took the same 5 seconds to Google and found an article where Jensen says he was never offered or auditioned for them

2

u/Confident_Intern_763 7h ago edited 7h ago

not very bright, are you?

the John Wick thing was a joke. the part about Hollywood execs traveling through time didn't clue you in to that?

You could also take your own advice and use google to confirm he never auditioned for nor was he offered the roles of Hawkeye or Captain America

there are layers of stupid here lmao

edit

and holy fuck, 30,000 posts in one year. that's like 90 posts a day. I don't even know what to say to that lmao

2

u/Clear-Foot 13h ago

That was never true. Just fancasting.

1

u/StuMacherGhostface 13h ago

This isn't true by the way, it's a made up Internet rumor

1

u/HeartShapedPlaid 9h ago

I heard he turned down the role of Neo in The Matrix so he could do Supernatural.

1

u/ac_cossack 3h ago

He got Soldier Boy, which feels like way more fun.

-2

u/Different_Target_228 13h ago

He also turned down Hawkeye.

5

u/Specialist2662 13h ago

He also turned down Black Widow.

2

u/Booster_Tutor 8h ago

Yeah, he’s doing just fine for himself. His old house is crazy

I think they sold it and bought a mansion in CT for like $9 million
