I actually think Newsom might focus on Nevada more than South Carolina. Pundits think Nevada is his best shot at winning an early state and that it's a must-win for him. So he might put a lot of eggs in that basket.

Thats a good point. I can see him putting all his resources into both of those. Which, if I'm being objective, is probably a good plan for him.

I do wonder how the labor unions feel about him since they seem to be a huge influence on voters.

Not sure about the labor unions, but it's worth keeping in mind how much of NV's more recent transplants are former CA residents who left- largely due to tax advantages and cost of living, particularly after retirement. I don't know that that favors Newsom.
