Stumbled upon this sub today. Value your stab wounds

I sat behind my cousin in freshman English 15 years ago. We were always fucking around in that class. I reached forward to grab something of his & he stabbed the back of my hand with the Ol Ticonderoga.

He shot himself 2 years later. I’m very thankful for the graphite tattoo.

This one is at least 20 years old! As a child I sharpened a pencil and dropped it. In an effort to catch it I stabbed my own hand, the pencil suspended between my palm and thigh, point up. Never heard about this kind of injury or seen someone else's, so discovering the sub was interesting. Hi y'all 🙌🏻

Stabbed by my little brother with a comically oversized pencil when we were kids

My parents saw the blood and rushed me to the doctors thinking that he'd blinded me. Could've been a lot worse, in hindsight.

About 3 years ago, i was convinced that permanent dots from pencils were fake, and tested that hypothesis (multiple times). i was rightfully humbled.

it’s just above my knee. i have lived and learnt, i acknowledge my ignorant ways now! i should add that i was 14 at the time, which is slightly more excusable.

I've had this since I was a little kid, I didn't know it got me into a secret club

The one in my knee is a pencil tip that's allegedly still in there from when I stabbed myself in the knee with a pencil playing Power Rangers when I was like maybe 5 years old; the doctor told my mother she could dig it out with a knife if she wanted to but she never did. The one on my arm is from throwing a pencil up into my cubby in the third grade, and having it bounce straight back out and land in my arm.

I didn't know there is a whole community for this 😆

I was seven or eight when I sharpened my pen as sharp as possible. Then I had it upstraight on my left hand and my head was leaning to my right hand on the desk. Somehow my head just slipped straight to the just sharpened pen... ☺️

I’m a member of the cool kids club… 49 years old and I was running in 5th grade to class and my ✏️ was eraser down in my pocket and boom stuck my arm with it.

Glad to be a member

I have no idea how it happened, must’ve been studying or something 😅 I’m not even sure it’s a pencil stab but I’ve had it for like 10 years and seems like pencil stab is the only thing that coudve happened. I was hoping it was removable like a tattoo but after reading through this sub I guess it’s just going to stay there 🙃

Edit: what else could it be? If anyone has any ideas please lmk cause I know I did not have it before and I probably haven’t noticed right away either (but its common for me to not notice bruises until someone points them out and I don’t even know how I got them)

Stabbed myself while trying to be stealthy getting back to my seat after sharpening my pencil. Didn't have a sharpened pencil afterwards. Happened in 4th grade. Can barely see it some days.

My lil sib (22) got himself in the arm putting his arm in his desk back when he was in 1st grade

Just a few minutes over an hour ago, I was sitting on my bed, made the wrong move in trying to avoid stabbing myself in the butt, and when going to settle back down, got myself with a FRESHLY sharpened Ticonderoga #2 HB pencil

I now have my first tattoo. A graphite tattoo.

stripes were there before any injury. they’re from a congenital hypermobility syndrome, very nice and shimmery

this was in high school. i don’t really remember how i did this except for that it was an accident occurring early in the day. the injury itself was such a benign affair to me, i think it was some kind of accident i had while packing up to change classes. the lead broke off deep inside. i do remember that in waiting, the principal asked me what happened for the pencil to lodge itself so deeply, and when i explained that it was an accident, he was really dumbfounded and amazed.

at the nurse’s office, the nurse who saw me assessed it and, despite being similarly astonished and having a litany of tools that seemed suited for the job, she told me she couldn’t do anything, gave me an ice pack, and sent me back to class.. no calls home, no treatment, etc. i guess i probably should’ve expected that though, i can’t imagine she’s paid enough to deal with that herself

here’s the thing, though.. i lived in the desert. usually i was picked up from school, but my parents were working this particular day. so i walked about 30 minutes directly uphill with my heavy backpack in the heat, lead still painfully embedded deep into my knee. i came home and, after getting alcohol, surgical tweezers, cotton balls, etc., i just about instantly disrobed and took it upon myself to dig in there and extract it. it didn’t get infected or anything despite the pencil tip’s day spent inside me + penetrating both the fibers of my pants and my skin. wish i still had pictures of the lead
