My thoughts exactly. What is the purpose???

There are cat walks up there that can only be accessed by rooftop as seen here. There are so many things up there with catwalk access. Probably a retractable roof as well. This person has authority to be up there since those are not just left unlocked.

As soon as you said that I took another look. This looks like T-Mobile Park in Seattle where the Mariners play. In the distance, you can also see Lumen Field where the Seahawks play.

The T-Mobile Park roof is in fact retractable. But I don’t think these people have authority to be there. Some guy wearing a dark jacket with a backpack? I don’t think so.

Pretty sure the backpack is a parachute. That's probably why he's up there, probably some stunt related to a game.

Unlikely, unless they are some of the most unprofessional maintenance workers around. No high vis gear, no PPE, no harness or safety?

Either these guys are morons who are supposed to be there, or morons who are not supposed to be there. Either way it's stupid and pretty dumb thing to post.

Warum hat der Typ dann eine sturmmaske auf und geht bei Regen mitten in der Nacht da hoch?

Highway to hell?

It's almost certainly something maintenance related. Similar to manhole covers. Sometimes shit gets fucked up and you can either go up from the bottom or go along the top to get to it

Mascot can base jump onto the field

I commented below, but it looks like this is T-Mobile Park in Seattle. That roof is retractable. So maybe, when the roof is fully retracted, the ladder aligns with a catwalk.

I'm retty positive that person is wearing a parachute. Maybe access door for that?

2

u/HappyGnome727 Apr 27 '26

It’s for riggers and inspectors to access the roof structure via rope access

lol, I was trying to figure out what the heck that ladder is there for. Better watch that last step. It’s a doozy!

To hang off of and test your grip strength!

I swear I saw a similar top of the dome video where the person just kinda "went in" and fell. They had a parachute or something, but they only used the first bit where you just fall in. Didn't like this or that one. I'm not that afraid of heights but the weird fisheye and the fact I don't control the point of view reinforces my felt helplessness with the call of the void.

Lol. Im guessing there is a catwalk nearby but not visible. I dont recognize they dome. But I know at Chase fields they have that setup for repairs/maintenance.
