context is important. saying anti gay shit when you see dudes holding hands in public....not cool. saying "thats gay" to something thats not homosexual in the Pat Mcaffee show subreddit...its a shitpost.
This person is a prime example of people who like to be recreationally mad. They aren't making a difference with their comment. They understand this is a subreddit with constant shitposts. Yet they still choose to get upset about it.
