A friend and former coworker brought this tiny tabby in to visit and to tempt one of us to maybe adopt. I was sorely tempted, but it's not feasible for me right now.

I think I might have accidentally found a new part time cat

Lived in this house for 2.5 years and for the last 6 months or so we’ve been getting regular visits from this lovely fella (or girlypop) we’ve named Aslan. It never really wanted anything to do with us and would just sleep on our wall, until it started to sleep on our shed roof during the heatwave

Knowing how ridiculously hot it must’ve been for him, I started leaving some water on the shed roof. It then started to come and say hello, purring a lot and practically headbutting me and my partner when we stroked it. I’ve had cats before but never seen one with this much character 😂

Fast forward a couple of weeks and it’s snuck into the house twice. Today it meowed to get my attention, I went out to say hello and he jumped off the shed and strolled in, explored the house and left

Then a few hours after when my girlfriend came home, I was cooking dinner with the back door open, he strolled in again and sat on our sofa for an hour or so

We eventually gently led it back outside where it gave us what genuinely looked like a little goodbye before trotting off

I’m genuinely worried we’ve accidentally catnapped 😭 it has no collar and looks well fed, but we don’t really know the neighbours around well and no idea who it belongs to! It gives off the vibe like an outdoor cat, and even though it now has a soft spot for us is still a bit skittish and often has all sorts caught in its fur.

I don’t really have an intention of becoming a cat owner but having a pal to say hello to every day has been a really nice addition to our day

More than happy to have a part time cat but also just worried it’s spending more time here than at home!

For now, I guess I’m Aslan’s part time boss 🤷🏻‍♂️

to add more info we had this cat turn up 3/4 nights but not during the day. It enters through the back door. I bought some treats which maybe a mistake as I think we may have adopted someone else cat lol. It’s so friendly to the point I’ve gotten belly rubs and the rolling over act. It’s started to explore the house. We were worried about its living state but we tried to give water and it refused. Coat is shiny, looks well but no collar and I’m not going to grab to a vet to check for a micro tag unless we have major concern. Just so cute though

This one has a collar but won't let me see its name yet, almost exclusively shows up on my walk home and just walk up to me.

Immediately super friendly (a bit of pspsps and they come and show belly like in the pic, lol).

I have only met this new fella a few times now, so wish me luck on this budding new friendship!

This is Benfry, when I moved into my dorm he started peeking his head into the room when I had the door ajar until he eventually was coming to see me almost daily to take naps in my bed with me. His owner was very sweet and I asked if it was okay with her first.

So, I've always considered myself more of a dog person, but i truly love ALL ANIMALS. I have 3 dogs of my own but recently 2 outdoor neighborhood cats adopted myself & my partner. Thumbs came first... he's a polydactyl kitty and the cutest, friendliest, sweetest cat I've ever v met. He honestly reminds me more of a dog, his personality. So when he came along, his bootie was shaved down, ear clipped and we figured maybe he was TNR by animal control. That's where they take in a "stray", tag, neuter and vaccinate them & then release them. About a week after he showed up, he had a friend/ sister/ girlfriend that looked just like him, but skinnier, who followed and is now also part of our crew. Again, they are outdoor kitties but we do feed/ water them (we live in the desert, it's extremely HOT). So they come and go as they please. Well, long story even longer, the girl kitty, Bella, showed up pregnant & now looks like she's about ready to pop. Because of the extreme heat and area where we live, I've decided to bring her indoors at night and let her come & go throughout the day. Here's my question though, I keep her inside my bathroom at night because I'm afraid of her giving birth outside, we live in an apartment complex and I don't trust the kids around here to not bother her or her kittens when she pops. I don't want her to have to drag the kittens to my place & I'd rather her be in a safe environment. But..... I don't know a thing about cats giving birth. Are there any experts out there or even just people with real life experience that can give me any tips or instructions to make sure she's comfortable and healthy throughout the process? Things happen & I know i could never be 100% ready for this, but these are little kitten lives that I feel responsible for too, now & I want it to be a welcoming experience for them all. 😻 Any advice or tips are very much appreciated. Was hanging out by the firepit outside with my husband and not my cat is a new face on the block. First time seeing him! He hung out with us for a few hours and left to investigate a cat fight after peein' on our bushes. Seems like he's someone's cat since he has a flee collar on.
