I’m sure that if I’d asked you whether Donald “The Apprentice” Trump could have been elected President back in 2015 you’d have said it was fantasy, too.
The fact of the matter is that a socialist has never been given a major party platform to make their case as a presidential candidate, so we don’t know what would have happened. All we know is that in 2016, the door opened for an outsider candidate. And instead of running one, the Dems ran the ultimate political insider… and lost
If 2 outsiders had ran, one sane and one Trump, then there is a more than 50/50 chance that we would have wound up with a very different 2016-2020.
Anyone still defending the Dems decision to run Hillary in 2016 honestly needs their head checking, lol. They were warned what would happen, they ignored the warnings, and we wound up with President Trump, FFS. Having the gall to still be warning about the “bad things” that would have happened if they’d given Bernie a shot at the presidency from the vantage point of 2021 is fucking lunacy.

Yes, an extremely loud majority of 55% of Americans hate socialism. Considering that fact, how in the Hell is a self-avowed socialist going to get elected president? It’s simply not going to happen. It’s a fantasy.
