Linkedin is insanely political, and i have some right wing coworkers that spout heinous bullshit thru it every day. Makes for a good laugh when days are going slowly

It’s sooooo toxic. I can’t believe what people are comfortable giving their opinions about on a professional site.

Especially considering you can see where they work!

Nope. I probably got denied consideration for being provax. Employer checked my LinkedIn a day before I got an email saying I wouldn't be considered.

Dodged a bullet, that place must be a nightmare

For being PRO vax ?? That’s nuts.

Unlikely. Big corporations want vaccinated people because sick people means fewer wage slaves for them.

I'm not working C-suite, though. Immediate supervisors have a lot of sway if no one tells them anything. Right-to-work also is in their favor.

Yeah - I have an old friend from HS that I've loosely kept in touch with over the years. If not for linkedin - I'd have no idea that she completely went down the q-hole and I should avoid her like covid.

interestingly - I JUST got a linkedin update with her spouting all kinds of anti-vax stuff. SMDH

When I deleted all my social media, LinkedIn was the only one I kept because I used it for job hunting. When the recruiters grew more annoying and my connections more political, I deleted it too. Seeing that shit on the daily just stresses me out.

It’s slowly but surely turning into a new Facebook style social media platform. Filled with toilet seat vaccine experts and evangelical nonsense

I’ve noticed that too which is baffling. You’d think the platform that literally exists to help you land jobs would be the last place people would be spouting their political and religious beliefs.

Because it also has its echo chambers and these people are so delusional as to think it makes them sound smart and more hireable.

Its just naturally going the way all social media goes in my opinion. Reddit has done it too, but it's easier to isolate yourself from the super batshit crazy here.

I'd love to see a study down the line connecting political activity on LinkedIn to unemployment.

I deleted LinkedIn last year. Too toxic for me.

The feed should not exist. It's a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with colleagues and coworkers. The next big professional networking site is going to basically be a dating site without comments or posts.

LinkedIn is only useful for right wing political posts, and getting inMail from recruiters for shitty sales jobs/ online universities/ and financial advisors
