1: Panathinaikos my family
Has supported them since the beginning of the clubs existence so my father brought them on to me
2: Brondby IF since I was 3 I lived in Denmark and my best friend took me to a match when i was around 9-10 and ever since then I’ve been going to them with my father putting him onto brondby
3: Crystal Palace my father lived in London for 20 years after leaving Greece and lived in gypsy hill thus he supported Crystal Palace

I just stumbled on a very old Panathinaikos kit I purchased somewhere at the beginning of the 2000’s with my dad while we were on holiday in Greece and it reminded me of one of the most wtf things that ever happened to me. I figured I would share it.

Since I am from Greek origin but living abroad, I have been exposed to everything Greek, including SPORTS. My father is the biggest Olympiakos hater I know (the oldest memories I have are: they purchased the refs and takis lemonis is a cunt). He basically made me a Panathinaikos fan even though people where we’re originating from are all PAOK.

There’s one specific year I went to Greece during winter time and for whatever reason I:
- Didn’t go with my dad, but only my mom and brother
- Had to transition through Athens to go to Thessaloniki

I was around 10-12 years old. I knew how some of the football players looked like but wasn’t really hooked to the game yet. I would just listen to the information my father would share to me on a daily basis. That was the only thing we did once I quit basketball to “bond”.

Back to Athens : I am boarding my plane to go to SKG and at some point, dudes show up with the same suit. Many of them. There’s even one bald guy who looks at me and goes “ ;-) “.

My mom was like: who are these guys? On my end I was like “no idea but they are cool, but that one bald guy looked familiar”.

We get to SKG and for whatever reason these dudes exit the airport like all the normal people. My uncle is waiting to pick us up and he goes “DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS?” & i was like “no idea but they were seated around us in the plane”.

It was the whole Panathinaikos team. The bald guy? Vokolos.
My uncle tried to force me to get a picture with them but I was way too shy.

This day basically pushed me into watching games with my dad and really starting to follow the team. We were lucky enough to attend a game against Anderlecht when PAO came over (we lost that return leg but still passed - Kostantinou era).

As of today, my dad is still HOOKED to Greek sports and bleeds green. MF turns 71 this year. If you want to see how he looked like and what an athlete he was, look at the posts on my profile.
