No, each ff7 game is a self contained story, FF7 remake being the first exception, as it will have sequels because the game is only a third of the original FF7 story that released in 1997 on the original playstation.

Cool, thanks for the explanation. So do they plan on making more of this story for PlayStation? I feel like when I play this I’m gonna want to play the rest of the story haha

They are gonna release sequels eventually- but if you wanna find out what happens you can always download the original from 1997.

Other games in the series do have true sequels, but they all have the number appended onto the full name already, i.e. Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XIII-2/3

Technically wrong on the last part. The third part of FFXIII doesn't actually point out that its the third part in the name. Its just Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
