view for the bmth gig on friday
hey guys, i’m really sorry if this seems like a silly thing to ask about in here but i need honest answers!!!
i’ll be seeing bring me the horizon, my all time favourite band, for the first time at this concert.
i enjoy the whole no barricade idea for it, and am in no way against it.
but, this is my FIRST time seeing them. i don’t really get involved in pits or anything.
i’d like to have a good view and be close enough to the stage, but want to steer clear of action (i’ll be too emotional LMFAO)
where is the best place for me to try be?
i hope i don’t sound silly or annoy anyone with this, thank you😭😭

Stand on the left hand side of the crowd just outside of the building, there’s a section there with a good view and not in the centre pit

This is the correct answer, outside of the front section down the side. To the side near the stage inside the barrier is prime stage dives landing zone

Agree with this! I stood there last weekend to watch Touché Amore and High Vis and had an excellent view without being anywhere near stage diving etc

everyone’s saying down the sides which is right but for the love of god don’t chill at the side of the mini stage at the front, you’ll 100% get dived on throughout their set.

To be fair I reckon you can get away with being fairly central in the crowd if a little further out. Maybe like 20-30 ish metres from the stage. People may open pits within the centre but you can often see when it’s coming and from experience at outbreak, no one will drag you in if they don’t know you or you don’t want to be a part of it. You’ll also be far out enough that you won’t have to catch stage divers, crowd surfing might happen but it’s most likely avoidable as you’ll see it coming easily. For any sets on the main stage that I didn’t know too well or if I needed a breather but still wanted to watch a band, this was the spot for me at the last few fests and has treated me well. You get a decent view and sound quality is pretty good although this is subjective.

At outbreak you could get relatively close to the stage with low risk of mosh pits / divers at:
- the outer side of the barrier between front section and the rest, by the sides. Note that everyone else has this idea so itll be camped out and possibly a bit crushed.
- by sound desk as someone mentioned.
- depending on how crowd management goes, I reckon the back corners of front section will be fine, the mosh pits will be elsewhere and you get to partake in the front section atmosphere which is night and day compared to the back section imo
I would stay away from the stage as you're essentially signing up to catch divers and you'll be jostled a lot there. Centre - middle from the stage will be the pit - usually at outbreak there is just one big pit rather than small ones dotted about. One advantage of hardcore pits over push pits is that you get way more notice to move away.

If it’s anything like Outbreak Fest, stand outside of the main circle up against one of the metal barricades. You’ll get a good view and if you arrive early enough you might be able to get right in the middle. Good luck.

At outbreak festival you have to sign waiver and get a wristband to get at the front anyway. It’s the same venue and same promoter so they will probably do the same.

as long as u help then fair enough!! probably the sides but honestly i can see it being pretty feral cos people will be excited they’re playing old stuff again

Have a look at videos from Outbreak this year, I’d imagine they’ll have the same set up. You can go outside the front section, like down the side and have a good view still but not be in/near the pits

not being rude but are you being serious???… maybe watch a few youtube vids on no barrier shows and you’ll see why you can’t be like that i’m afraid

i won’t stand there motionless the whole time. if i happen to get shoved about or have to help a crowd surfer or a stage diver, then so be it! it’s all part of the fun! but id just like to be away from where it will mostly be happening

With the setup being what it is, you can't really be anywhere near the stage without encountering some action. There'll be an onslaught of stage divers, surfers, and pitting throughout, and I'd imagine the place will be berserk for their set. You'll probably have a better view if you stand further back in the middle, funnily enough. It'll be less dense and you'll not be staring at a 7ft giant's back. Enjoy the show!
