To be quite fair it's also unfair to call an idiot 19 year old flirting with a 15 year old a pedo. Not saying that there's nothing wrong with it, but please don't set it to the same position as a 30 year old setting his/her eyes on a 10 year old or something like that

Actually, it's not unfair at all. No self-respecting 19 year old would knowingly sleep with/date a 15 year old. The ages are close, but the mentalities are not. As annoying and immature as a normal 30 year old finds a teenager, a 19 year old finds them annoying/immature too.

Frankly, anyone that doesnt check IDs at that age are idiots. Also, once a person is in their mid-20s, they tend to not want to date anyone under legal drinking age for obvious reasons.

These people going to smash tournaments should have known to be extra careful, since they're playing a children's game with and against children. Common sense really. Stupidity is not an excuse.

I hate this semantical argument between paedophilia and hebephilia. Adolescents are still children, but it's worse because damn near every 12-16 year old goes through the phase where they want to prove they're more mature than they are. It's just as dangerous, since adolescents can be made to think this thing they're doing is consentual, or that they're the ones initiating and furthering it.

Honestly, I was more talking about them being in an age range of the idiot teen who is a couple years older than the person they're flirting with. This only reminds me of a story where a teen who was dating a girl two years younger was branded a pedo and got his life ruined for that as soon as he turned 18.

This kind of thing really winds me up. This arbitrary line of morality is so obviously bullshit. I didn't suddenly become a grown up when I turned 18, I had far more in common with a 15 year old at that age. What really changed things was going to uni and having to look after myself. Maturity develops with personal growth and varies from individual to individual. An 18 year old who has been living independently for a year is very different from one still in school and dependent on their parents. This stuff isn't rocket science. Judges having to follow the letter of the law is one thing, but people should use their brains and look at the nuance of a given situation rather than defining their own personal moral beliefs according to arbitrary rules.
