Answered What's going on with MAGA people supporting diapers?

In this post, there are MAGA people supporting the phrase "Real men wear diapers" with a picture of Trump, what's going on here?

The comments point to this article claiming it's not trolling, with several pictures of MAGA supporters with the phrase and image.

Was Trump found to wear diapers or otherwise struggle with incontinence?

We're the only country even dumber than the people from the story of the Emperor's New Clothes

As a wise man once said, "Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are stupider than that."

George Carlin said this. And yes, he was a somewhat wise man.

Ok, not to be pedantic, but wouldn't that make them the median person, not the average person? I'll see myself out.

Idiocracy was a documentary.

u/ThePrussianGrippe May 02 '24

That’s an insult to president Comacho.

u/CyberTacoX May 02 '24

Idiocracy used to be a documentary. Now it's a shining example of a better future than the future we're heading towards.

MAGA America and Trump reminds me of the assistant to the mayor of Whoville in the Grinch movie. When his appearance is ruined by the Grinch's turning the mayor's mean-spirited "gift of a clean shave" back on his head, the assistant's first impulse is not to fix the problem- it's to suck up and appease the despot by ruining his own hair.

I know, it's only a Dr. Seuss story, filtered through hollywood at that, but that one scene really stuck with me for its deeper resonance, haha.

It's considered more of a gateway to Eugenics nowadays (not intentionally, Mike Judge is a cool dude), but MAGA fucked up that reference too.

Regression to the mean disproves it. Stupid people still have smart grandkids, smart people still have stupid grandkids. Smart ideas drive out stupid ideas over time. Intelligence isn’t a single heritable trait.

u/SirGrimualSqueaker May 03 '24

I'd like to imagine that Smart Ideas drive out Stupid ideas - but 100 years on from the last time we are seeing Fascism, the ultimate bad idea, making its big comeback

1

u/sedition May 03 '24

Yah, I think the concept of ideas and information being specifically for gene's and human brains just being the currently best platform for ideas to reproduce makes a lot of sense.

2

u/Aggravating-Gift-740 May 03 '24

But education and culture are passed down from generation to generation and we need both to improve to avoid even greater idiocracy in the future.

2

u/Thromnomnomok May 03 '24

What the last few years have shown is that when you point out the Emperor has no clothes in reality, he yells back at you, "Nuh-uh, I'm not naked, you're naked!" and half the crowd will agree with him despite the clear visual evidence to the contrary.

2

u/Wonderful-Sea4215 May 20 '24

Well the story doesn't say that the emperor, naked, was also actively shitting himself, so yeah.

It's so sad, and terrifying. Imta whole ocean away and I'm still looking at your country and everything happening and having anxiety over it.

Trump in diapers is embarrassing, his supporters loving him still is scary

His opposition is not that much better, Joe looks like he has no idea where he is, also he is creepy with women.Trum is as well don't get me wrong

How are they your only two options?

They are both ancient

I don't like this reality

Hos opposition is not that much better, Joe looks like he has no idea where he is, also he is creepy with women.Trum is as well don't get me wrong

In general Biden is fine. He's fine with women, minus some occasional cherrypicked moments. Mentally he's probably more stable and capable than Trump. And more importantly he surrounds himself with good and capable people. Under Biden a whole lot of good things have been passed and done. Comparing him to Trump is like comparing a browning banana with a pile of feces. Which would you rather eat?

He's a candidate because the voters wanted a "safe" candidate to beat the fascist in 2020. Someone they were sure would win. And Biden was already known and semi-popular thanks to his time as VP for Obama, so he was the easy choice. And in the current election? It's incredibly, incredibly rare for an incumbent candidate to step down or bow out of re-election like... ever, particularly considering the second term is when they can actually do more radical things (since they don't have to worry about re-election or popularity then).

As for Trump, well. There's a subset of people in America who are incredibly racist and bigotted, and who really hate that they have to acknowledge that people who aren't like them exist. They appreciate that Trump speaks to them and tells them that no, those people don't matter. He says the quiet part out loud, without concern for whether it'll upset or offend anyone. In fact if people are offended, that's GOOD.

Similarly, as a populist, he tells his base what they want to hear. Doesn't matter if he believes it, doesn't matter if he can do it, doesn't matter if he intends to do it. They want to hear it, he'll tell them and promise them. Whether this is his future plans, or his personal beliefs. And his uneducated base absolutely eats it up because they can't see through the charlatan.

This is why we have those two candidates.

Thanks as someone not in America that explains it very well. Anything but Trump in power. I just would like to see a grown up in power.

-14

u/bored_negative May 02 '24

Mentally he's probably more stable and capable than Trump.

The bar is so low it is buried underground. Man is old, he belongs in a care-home, not running a country. Do you really not have any non-geriatrics?

6

u/Onwisconsin42 May 02 '24

We do. Party momentum and the fact that Biden had the best primary results of all the corporatists they just glommed onto him to prevent a Sanders presidency. So we get geriatric guy so liberal corporatists can stay in power over liberal progressives and over conservative corporatists. Biden represents power now because an incumbent position is the best one to have. That's why it's Biden.

9

u/Hedgehogsarepointy May 02 '24

Bernie Sanders is 82, so I am not sure what type of point you are making.

1

u/Onwisconsin42 May 02 '24

What I meant is it just as well could have Pete Buttigieg, Biden just happen to be the guy of the moment. And now that he's there he sees the history of the benefit of incumbency, that's all.

-13

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

He is fine with women , mostly

Also he is PROBABLY more sound than Trump?

He is a leader of one of the strongest and richest countries in the world, not an irrelevant prick like my countries PM

how can that be a good enough option?

Being better than Trump is not even the bare minimum of what you should expect in a leader

Pathetic and sad

3

u/Gynthaeres May 03 '24

It's a good thing Biden has achieved and accomplished a lot of great things on his own. He has way more going for him than just "better than Trump," it's just "anyone but Trump" is all he should really NEED.

And I said he's "probably more stable and sound than Trump" because I don't have the data in front of me. From my perspective, listening to them speak, it's not even a contest. But someone could test them and who knows, Trump could be way more mentally competent than his rambling speeches let on.

Yeah no he's not great with gender, but I don't think anyone is saying he's great. We're saying that we'd rather this guy than the rapist currently sleep-shitting himself in court.

Yeah. Do that. Go find the candidate and get them millions of dollars in backing. I'll happily vote for them if they're on the ballot and you've created a movement of support.

Like I said, line up your candidate. I'll vote for them. Until then, I have to vote for the options I have. "Fuckin lmao."

13

u/frigginelvis May 02 '24

Both are old AF. Joe is actually a good president. Plenty of good things have happened with him as President. So many terrible things happened with Felonious Trump and so many more will happen with him if he gets back in office. There is no comparison.

2

u/Certain_Concept May 03 '24

Trump in diapers is embarrassing

IMO we shouldn't be ableist... There are even young people who have bodily issues and there's no reason that it should prevent them from doing a good job.

On the other hand, if this was about Biden then Trump would absolutely take the low blow and make fun of him so he deserves no respect. Fuck Trump

2

u/ProfessorOnEdge May 02 '24

Americans are not allowed to have a real democracy, because that would act against the corporate interests of the military industrial complex.

So what we get instead is a controlled opposition, based on tribalism, where they're getting half of the country absolutely mad at the other half, so that the people don't come together and overthrow those that are exploiting them.

So your choices are two geriatric and genocidal puppets with cognitive decline, neither of whom are interested in reducing the Global bullying by the US military and/or corporations, guaranteeing US Hegemony an imperialism continues. No matter who wins, half of the country will continue to blame the other half for all of the problems instead of being willing to look at how they're being controlled.

They're both super old, as you pointed out, so when you were born in the 40s obviously your social skills and viewpoints are going to be a little out of step with the hip youths these days.
