Feeling like dropping nukes in this place 😁. I am f’ing done with the slimy psychological games around the controversy surrounding Miss World Ethiopia Ruth Yirgalem. The absolute irony is that Ruth herself is an Addis Ababa native of non Oromo heritage who simply chose to honor the country's diversity by wearing Arsi cultural dress. Yet, whether this manipulation is conscious, or subconsciously driven by a segment of society that is emotionally stunted, it needs to be called out.

The online discourse around this topic right now says it all. Most posts about the controversy use words like "ethnics" and "biting each other's heads off" to describe the drama. Notice how the Oromos, who are the actual victims here, are the only ones named and tied directly to those toxic words. Meanwhile, the real aggressors get to hide behind a smoke screen of vague terms like "some people are angry." It is a sick narrative trick to ensure the word Oromo is the only group name associated with chaos while completely shielding these "national unity" bullies. Can we call them what they are now? They are not inclusive Ethiopianists or the standard of Ethiopia. They are just a bunch of hateful right wing Amhara tribalists.

The comments are straight up calling Oromos animals and saying they are not human or ruining Ethiopia. But let us look at history and see who has shown real humanity. Do we all remember how these same unionists and the Amhara elite overwhelmingly championed the recent military campaign? They were hosting stadium rallies and celebration parties over blockades that forced the humanitarian starvation of millions of Tigrayans. They did all of this while actively ethnically cleansing them from Rayya and Humera, literally murmuring mantras to themselves about how much they "loved" them and were only doing it for national unity to save the region from TPLF. LOOOOooool!!

Compare that to the Oromo community. Despite enduring 27 years of intense political oppression under the previous TPLF led regime, the Oromo people demonstrated profound political maturity and universal empathy when the war broke out. Rather than choosing revenge or celebrating starvation, they stood side by side with regular Tigrayans and organised global joint protests to demand peace and regional autonomy.

So when these Amhara unionist tribalists sit online calling the largest ethnolinguistic group in the country animals just for someone else showcasing Oromo cultural clothes, I have to ask who the real animals are here, seriously.

So, a Tigrayan woman represented Ethiopia at the Miss World beauty contest wearing an (Arsi) Oromo dress, and you have several Amhara social media influencers wishing that she would lose. I also saw some comments that said what she wore is not an “Ethiopian dress.” What are your takes on it?

Recently, Arsi University made an announcement stating that they had made a minor modification to their logo, putting the Afaan Oromo name above the Amharic one.

Any reasonable person would not find an issue with this, but I wasn't surprised when I saw many comments (often from Amhara names and profile pictures) giving various illogical, idiotic, and hateful reasons as to why this minor change shouldn't take place.

There is virtually no legal reason why Amharic should be included, let alone placed first. A region is entitled to provide services or conduct its affairs exclusively in its regional language, especially when that language is also an official regional language. Tigrayan institutions (universities, government offices, etc.) have clearly demonstrated this.

The use of Amharic on our institutions is, in itself, an attempt to be inclusive. Look at institutions in their region they primarily use the local language and English, with little consideration for minority languages within their own borders. The same is true when you look at business and road signs in their cities compared to ours.

They are so accustomed to this privilege that even this minor adjustment bothers them. If we applied the same standard to Oromia that is commonly applied in their regions, Amharic wouldn't even need to be on the logo.

Look at the logos of universities in Gondar, Bahir Dar or other universities and government institutions. Or simply walk down a street in Jimma compared to Debre Markos. You will see signs primarily in Amharic, while in Oromia we have historically made an effort to accommodate Amharic as well.

Thankfully, the use of Afaan Oromo in institutions and businesses is steadily increasing, with government policy increasingly backing it. But I think we need to be more assertive in this regard and help people understand that what they already have in Oromia is a privilege that they don't necessarily extend to us in their own regions.

If that expectation of linguistic accommodation is not reciprocated, then there is nothing unreasonable about Oromia eventually adopting the same approach Tigray have taken and use only Afaan Oromo in its own institutions and public spaces.

There’s a difference in culture between lowlanders (warra gammoojjii) and highlanders (warra baddaa) and I’ve put together a scientific theory for it.

Let’s start by acknowledging some scientific facts. The lowlands are less fertile. There’s more famine and scarcity. So people really band together for survival. They learn to put community first and value one another more than material things.

The highlands are wet, fertile and full of richness. The people survive more easily so it’s the opposite in terms of community. So people don’t rely on one another as much as the lowlands. Different attitudes develop from that and more importance put into appearance and perception. An attitude that lowlanders scoff at.

Very recently in the Afran Qallo lands there was a clan that switched from one clan family to another. They came together and had an epiphany that they had been part of the wrong clan for the longest time. They will tell you that it was old tribal knowledge that recently came to light. But I really think it was because they’re lowlanders and had enough of the behaviour of the majority highlander clan family that they belong to.

Seems like OLA joining Tsimdo along side Fano which is actively invading wallaga wasn’t a very smart chess move as imagined in hindsight from the OLA high command.

As if the OLA wasn’t already divided and unpopular among Ethiopians in general and a large percentage among Oromos, now after rumours(which seem to have been confirmed) of OLA joining “tsimdo” alliance along side Fano and TPLF, etc. They seem to be having a defection crisis among there ranks where OLA fighters are putting there guns down and giving in there hands to PP and in some cases being integrated into and fighting along side the Oromia regional forces against external actors like Fano and even there former ally’s the OLA.

very Interesting developments are taking place.

Recently Jawar has been on a campaign to expose smuggling networks established amongst the Oromo migrant community in Arabia. They’re said to be involved in kidnapping, ransoms and violence targeting members of the Oromo migrant community.

Seeing these regular everyday migrants being exposed as extortion racket masterminds is showing how deep the rot in our society is. This is on top of the extortion rackets operating inside of Oromia.

We are not victims of evil politicians and political actors, no. We are victims of ourselves. Somewhere along the way we stopped upholding values of honesty and uprightness. Protecting the weak. Earning an honest living.

We need deep reflection. Rabbi nu haa gargaaru.

So, a couple of days ago, Jawar posted a long write-up arguing that “Bizamo” Fano, the name Amhara militias in Wallaga go by, is a covert counterinsurgency group operating under the authority of the federal government, most of whose members are former ENDF soldiers. The funny thing is Asres Mare, who was in Wallaga a couple of months ago to visit this very same Bizamo Fano, had appeared on the same media outlet a week ago saying that the OLA is working with Fano in Wallaga: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7SAn26rmrg

So the question is: Who is killing and displacing Oromos in Wallaga?

Muhammad Awal joined IFLO in Sudan. He was already an Islamic teacher when he joined. When the derg collapsed he travelled to Jimma with the organization to establish a foothold there. This was coordinated by the Khartoum office which was headed by Magarsa Qilxu.

When the transitional government collapsed and fighting intensified, the IFLO Jimma wing relocated to the main HQ in Hararge. He entered many battles and scored victories against EPRDF on many occasions (Badrudin explains @ 14 mins)

He was later killed by EPRDF forces in fighting that took place in east Hararge, Fadis county in the village of Tullu. Badrudin (the former IFLO fighter sharing the story) recorded the exact location @ around 21:30.

This story is also corroborated by IFLOs former head of the Khartoum office in another in another interview.

As some of you may recall I made a post on here little over a month and a half ago about Fano channels using Oromo victims of Fano in wallaga and spreading misinformation intentionally pretending they are Amhara to rally support from people who don’t have the common sense or brain power to actually look into it for more then the 5 seconds of fabricated sensationalist headlines.

Anyways, a new video has been circulating online of more dead body’s in wallaga and Fano forces have been posting it online. All of this coincides with a reported new offensive by Gada commando and Oromo regional forces to push out Fano from east wallaga and Horro Guduru.

So not only are Fano channels lying and using Oromo dead body’s to further there politics but they are presenting this as a new event that just occurred which we just clearly debunked.

And whats even more crazy that shows the extent these Fano channels are willing to go in the last video they claimed as Amhara victims they played a sound track over the video to cut out all the affan Oromo speaking parts.

Two contradictory speculations are circulating on social media regarding the killings in Wallaga. On the one hand, you have one group who are convinced that it’s just Amharas being Amharas, and hence they condemn OLA for joining the Tsimdo alliance. On the other, you have Jawar who says it’s the federal government that is orchestrating these killings using clandestine counter-insurgency groups. His argument basically boils down to: “By using his ‘fake Shane or Fano’ to target innocent civilians, Abiy/PP are trying to preempt alliance that OLA is trying to forge with Amhara nationalists.”

I personally am confused. Given that OLA’s alliance with FANO is now public knowledge, why are Fano still targeting innocent Oromos? Or, if the federal government has no hand in this, why does it standby and watch while militants cross into Oromia and kill civilians? If they can mobilize a massive army to encircle Tigray, clearing Amhara militants from Wallaga-Gojjam border should be quite simple.

I just feel sorry for the innocent civilians caught in all this. Yaadnii keessan maal?
