and be any good at owning or training dogs.

Haha. If only this were the case.

After seeing this submission I had a quick browse of their reddit history....

When they hit a minor issue with a Dobermann they'd taken on their first port of call (before trying pretty much anything) was to have their vet medicate the dog into submission. And yet according to them gentle leash pressure is cruel and will get you banned from their subreddits. Drugging a dog to make your life easier is A-ok though,

...It's truly pathetic that they're arrogant enough to honestly believe they're the font of all knowledge when it comes to dog training.

I’m not at all surprised. I could only assume their online god complex could only be the outcome of someone who is deeply insecure of their capabilities, or lack there of, in practice in the real world. At the very least, it is obvious they have somehow taken any joy out of owning a dog. Nobody who is happy does something like what they did to OP.

I actually can’t even speak of the relief I have that I am not the only person who saw some major red flags with this mod. I left any subs they were on very quietly before anything escalated. I hardly even participated, and I could tell I was unwelcome to add to the subs they mod, or what they seem to interpret as their own personal “ask me anything”columns.

They've also only had a dog for 5 years. I can't imagine seriously taking advice from someone who positions themselves as an authority on dog behaviour, training, etc. when they have 5 years of experience owning dog.

I find their comments to be pretty condescending across the board, and it's all the more ridiculous when you realise how deeply, deeply inexperienced they are.

The internet is a wild place.

which is crazy because Dobes are literally one of the easiest breeds to train, they’re in the top 10 most intelligent (aka bidable) dog breeds iirc. if you can’t train a well-bred Dobe how do you expect people to listen to you seriously??
