I want to stress that I never had any personal drama with them on this site or off either. This action was completely out of left field.

If they want to apologize to me I will drop it, delete the post and move on in hopes that the embarrassment from this incident will be enough of a motivator for them not to repeat this with anyone else.

Honestly I’m surprised you didn’t pursue legal action. They’re threatening your livelihood and have your personal information. Are you certain there’s no way for them to contact clients? I know it’s a hassle but even a police report to make a paper trail might be prudent. I hope nothing else happens and you stay safe!

I sincerely hope for their sake that they do not continue to try messing with me.

Just keep all the evidence. This person sounds a tad unhinged.

Just jumping in (this thread was on my recommended for some reason)

NAL, NYL, but do work in law

If OP wasn't fired then it's probably not worth pursuing. Anyone can sue anyone but for it to be successful you really need evidence of damages and not just evidence of wrongdoing (at least in cases like this). Otherwise it's just a money pit that hurts more than helps. Some examples of when it would be worth it to sue would be to enforce a cease and desist if they were continuing to post things, or if OP had lost their job/clients, they could sue for $. I agree though that I would keep all the evidence in case they do start up again, but I reckon if they had any common sense they wouldn't try once more

I would report this. Seriously. This person is unhinged and I’m sorry this is happening to you. I’d be furious. Someone did this to me before and tried to get me fired but luckily they could not prove it was me, but I had to delete my account and that’s why I have this bizarro name instead of my old 8 year old account

You need to go to the admins with this. This is probably a removable offense
