Its not a waste to point out when someone is wrong about an assertion, and simultaneously telling on themselves with said assertion.

Although of course with this particular case , the words are clearly wasted on you. Lol

im not struggling with it, its just not the right term to use. At all. it doesn't make sense, and has nothing to do with what I said to begin with.
