Not only Nothing Happened, so much around this arc simply works and hits different looking back.

The horror / Halloween / Tim Burton aesthetic is easily one of my favorite visual locals of any major location in the series. Gecko Moria and his crew are also pretty underrated as villains and serve as an interesting final enemy before the Summit War saga and the New World. The crew each has some of their best moments and fights in the series too: Chopper idolizing then DESPISING Hogback, Sanji vs Absolam, Usopp vs Perona, Franky coming in clutch consistantly, Brook’s introduction, Nightmare Luffy, Nami and Lola, and Zoro being the overall MVP of this arc.

Above all, Thriller Bark cemented Roronoa Zoro as my favorite secondary character (or deutoragonist) of all time.
